Yes you do
After you enter your online banking number on the left hand side menu ..GooliesOfFire wrote: »I've never got a card reader. Do I need to request it?0 -

Bit of a harsh knee jerk reaction.
kinda like i'll throw all my toys outa my pram if you make me put mittens on.
I personally dont see the problem with it. Its call added security and Im up for anything that can improve the security of my money when I log in to my accounts.
Thing is it dose not improve security. Think about this. Your bag purse wallet gets nicked and with it your card reader. They now have the four numbers you use because they are the four most worn buttons.
Now I know they have not got the order but until that horrid little reader came out they only would have my card.0 -
I have one reader at home and another at work. I don't carry it around with me. If I need to do it elsewhere I find a bank and do it from there. Its not very often I need to pay a bill whilst sitting in the local pub.
Secondly, if you can fit a Nationwide card reader into your wallet, then you have a BIG wallet!
I think I'm one of the few people who actually asked Nationwide for a reader, as I hated the "enter your memorable details" stuff.0 -
I have a couple of devices that need the batteries they use, so to me they are a source of free batteries.
So in about a years time I will have lost mine and need a new one.:rotfl:0 -
I sometimes use my NW card reader with other bank accounts but I no longer use Nationwide accounts since their interest rates became punitive.God save the King!
I'll save Winston Churchill, Jane Austen, J. M. W. Turner and Alan Turing.0 -

One doesn't only key in a PIN. If transferring money one keys an 8 digit code and the amount being transferred. For transfers to savings accounts I tend to transfer x00.00 so the zero key will be most used. I cannot detect any keys being more worn than any others but if I was worried I would ensure that I pressed other keys with the card removed.
If one has accounts with several banks and uses the same reader for each that would really confuse the thief.0 -
I wouldn't call an interest amount of 3.12% bad considing the current bank of england base rate... So I still use Nationwide.0
