Vodafone signal issues
I changed over to Vodafone on 11th January as O2 had a very poor signal where I work. First 2 weeks were great - full 3G signal and I could at last use my phone.
Two weeks later the 3G signal disappeared and I was told there was a fault in the area. This was eventaully rectified about 5 days later. At this point I wasn't too bothered as faults can happen.
Roll on another two weeks and 3G signal lost again - again a fault in my area. I was advised to switch off 3G and use 2G. 2G signal is also very poor resulting in virtually no reception at work unless I hang out of a window! Unfortunately I live and work in the same area - work is less than a mile away. If a caller does manage to call me the call drops as soon as I answer. Internet and email is hopeless on 2G.
This fault has been going on since 10th February. Vodafone say that parts are needed and are ordered. It's almost 4 weeks now and no sign of a fix.
I have emailed Vodafone who say they don't know when it will be fixed and that they don't guarantee reception all of the time. They are not interested when I say I am paying for a service that I am not receiving. In the 2 months that I have been with Vodafone I have had a decent signal for less than half of it.
Who can I chase this up with?

Hi jem16
Thanks for posting. I’m sorry to see that your experience with Vodafone signal hasn’t been at its best in the short time that you’ve been with us.
So that we can determine exactly where the fault lies and check the progress on the signal issue being resolved, please could you e-mail us via the Contact Us page on the Vodafone website, using WRT135 as the subject, the link to this thread, and the full postcode(s) of the area(s) affected.
Once we have this information we’ll be in a better position to advise how and when this will be resolved.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Many Thanks
Simon

Hi jem16,
Thanks for updating the thread.
Have you received a reply to your email as of yet?
If you're still in need of some assistance could you let us know your email reference number from our automated reply?
Should you have not received one of these could you email us again at webrelations@vodafone.com and include a link to this thread for us?
Best wishes,
Lee

I have received a reply. Reference number is 5928077.
Unfortunately the reply told me no more than I already knew. It seems that parts are required and no-one at Vodafone knows when these might arrive. Despite being told that someone would keep an eye on the fault and speak to technical colleagues, I have yet to hear anything further.
The signal fault has now been ongoing for 5 weeks and it seems no sooner to being resolved. Meanwhile my phone is practically useless at work where I need it most.
Vodafone seem quite happy to accept my monthly payment and refuse to entertain any sort of refund until the fault is fixed. So it seems that I keep up my end of the contract by making payment but Vodafone don't have to keep up their end.
I am seriously disappointed and will move on as soon as possible.0 -
Maybe Vodafone could offer you a Suresignal - free or discounted?
Works really well.0 -
As above.
Search Ebay for 'suresignal' and 'sure signal'.0 -
Suresignal may help at home but I don't really need a mobile signal as much there - people can call me on my home phone if needed.
My main problem is at work when I would like to be contactable and the reason I moved from O2 to Vodafone.0 -

Hi jem16,
Thanks for coming back to me.
I can understand your disappointment here but if you could leave it with me while I take a closer look at this I'll get back to you as soon as possible.

Unfortunately the reply told me no more than I already knew.
That is because the 'Web Relations Team' is a PR department. They are there to make Vodafone look good, not to help with problems.
I would get intouch with the exec office as you have now tried two different approaches to get the issue rectified.0
