  • Ok lets give the OP a chance to 'prove' herself.

    Dear TPT,

My 18 yr old son has had his A level module result back. Needless to say I'm not exactly putting out the banners over them.

Can you give me tips on how to get through to him that he has 8 weeks at best to turn the situation and get him to study without a) taking him to work with me so that I can make sure he revises b) get his nan to supervise his revision or c)destroy every computer or internet enabled device in the house? (and trust me I would do all 3 if that is what it took)

    MOD
Tell me about it! 17 year old daughter has just had the results of her first paper back. Gave her quite a shock I can tell you! I did point out that maybe answering every single text she got immediately that she got it might have made her concentration wander slightly... Hoping the E when she never had anything less than a B at GCSE might have given her the kick up the backside she needed!

i do notice a distinct nasty tone here.

There was no nasty tone from me. However, there were some stern words from me which is different. And being an A grade pupil (as we seem to keep hearing), you ought to know the difference.
All I was basically doing was asking for a chance to offer my advice to others

We don't need you to "hijack" the MSE site by inviting "teen" issues to your thread. There are appropriate places within this forum for people to post their questions, and you're free to contribute accordingly.
My parents are aware of this thread, and can't see any dangers in it, so please FAKE IRISH would you point them out to me.

    I will indeed, see below.
But for the record, if my posts have anything offensive or vulgar to you then don't hesitate to PM.

I'm disgusted your parents are allowing you (considering they are monitoring you) to invite some weird fake irish man to PM you:naughty::naughty::naughty::naughty:

Well if "she" was for real (and not just A Kiss in Time!) her parents will hopefully have banned her from here now - I would most certainly have banned my DD or my GDDs!.

No young person should ever be allowed to advertise their age on a self-moderated site, imo!

I'm guessing you've never seen the student room.
Designed for young people, some of the posts on there are 10 times worse than on here.

I can't be the only one with alarm bells going off.

Teen Princess Talia sorry to say, but you don't ring true.
Apologies if you are but i'm another who thinks you are not what you seem.

  • Sorry for rekindling this thread if it was long dead and burried. After reading the thread again I am on the fence about Teen Talia. I once did post on forums as a teen and they did me no harm - if the OP is not doing any harm then I don't think there should be a reason for them not to post.

However, judging by some of the replies - I believe that the intellegent person that she claims to be should not be so defensive. And if she wants to be a member on here she should try to act like an adult also.

I'll be honest, when I was her age my parents never checked what I was doing on the internet, but I wasn't stupid enough to meet up with anyone or speak to anyone who I felt was a threat. So we can't say for sure her parents know what she is doing on MSE.

Edit: To be clear, I posted on a music forum, so I guess it was a slightly different scenario.
