Sorry Talia, but I do also have to wonder how you 'have an 'A' to prove it' at 14 years old? I also have to agree with other posters who have pointed out that this is an adult forum, which a lot of us use to talk to people OTHER than our children!

Talia, did you honestly get an A in GCSE English?

I must have missed where she said that, but it's not possible to get an A grade GCSE when you're 14 as far as I'm aware.

My son is almost 15 and was put in for a few GCSE's 2 years early.

They can't get an A at that age though, the best they could get was a C as the marks go towards their final exams in Yr 11.

  • I'm not sticking up for her, but it is possible to get an A at any age as long as you are entered for the higher paper. A lot of children who are entered early are just entered for the lower paper so they can get some GCSEs out of the way, and are then entered for the higher paper later on if it is felt they are capable of it.

Ok lets give the OP a chance to 'prove' herself.

    Dear TPT,

My 18 yr old son has had his A level module result back. Needless to say I'm not exactly putting out the banners over them.

Can you give me tips on how to get through to him that he has 8 weeks at best to turn the situation and get him to study without a) taking him to work with me so that I can make sure he revises b) get his nan to supervise his revision or c)destroy every computer or internet enabled device in the house? (and trust me I would do all 3 if that is what it took)

    Hello!
I'd like to think my English is nearing perfect (I have the A to prove it!)

OMG I am soo confused by this thread. a 14 year old with A's (although the OP didn't say in GCSE's it could just be ongoing tests), multiple quotes from Arran but no original posts that I can see and the OP saying they will let their mum know if there is inappropriate language. What is MSE coming to? lol

I thought the whole point of posting a question on a forum was to get a range of answers from anyone who wanted to respond. How are posters supposed to 'direct' their questions to Talia? She can reply to any as she wishes from a 'teenage' viewpoint.

Sorry about that,on reflection I realised that the OP is quite naive for her supposed age and I dont reallly wish to encourage such behaviour.Regarding the whole point if this thread,im not really getting it!Surely OP could just post their opinions anyway from a "teenage point of view",but even that confuses me as I certainly wouldnt have behaved in such a manner at that age.Anyhoo

So did you delete your posts arran? That would make sense. I even went and checked whether you were were on ignore even though I don't remember putting anyone on ignore lol

Yes,as I didnt really want to "encourage" the OP to have such a thread, and I felt my comments were a little off-topic ie yapping on about how the under 18's also need financial and consumer advice
