    Is it the works bookshop??

Hi lush :) No it's not the Works, but a similar shop. It could be called something as simple as Discount Books, or Bargain Books, but it's not a name that I've seen bandied about much. If I get the chance over the weekend, I'll try and track it down, or see if anyone more local knows the name :) (It's opposite the rear entrance to Woolworth's and M&S if that helps ;))

    Edited: Thanks salduck :D x

  • After reading this thread for a while and being totally inspired to give hampers to my family this Christmas, I've just been to Au Naturele where there's 20% off everything!
I got a set of 3 white baskets for £15, a brown basket with handles for £10 (down from £20) and a pink fluffy blanket for £2 (down from £4).
I'm planning on making 'winter warmer' hampers for my mum and dad and 'night in' hampers for my brother and sister.

Sorry guys for posting this on here but my candy bouquet thread was closed so I thought it would be better to post it on here. I've made my first candy bouquet tonight for my Mum's birthday. Do you think it is ok? I've fussed over it all night

I was going to fill it more but I thought it might look too cheap if I did that x

Sorry, had to reply with another pic as that bouquet is fabulous! So well done, your mum will be bowled over by it and if she isn't, I'd love it :D

Awwww thanks everyone for your lovely comments I really appreciate it.

Sugarhunny - I bought the base which is called a transporter vase (or living vase) from www.floristandcraftsupplies.co.uk and the pink cello.

It was quite easy to do - the worst bit was deciding whether to put pink tissue or pink cello in as the base - but I did I trial with the both and decided on the tissue. I used oasis in the base and then used kebab skewers which I covered with green florist tape to stick the sweets on. I had to wrap each catherine wheel in cello before placing on the skewer. After placing all the sweets in the oasis i then cut squares of cello which I gathered in the middle and inserted these in the gaps between the sweets to give the bouquet effect.
Sorry its not clearer but I'm not very good explaining lol:D
I was a bit nervous about it as its my first one but I feel more confident now and will probably make some more for pressies now x

shelley - thats beautiful...............:T I wouldn't know where to start.

rainmac - yet another cracking pressie.............love the little scrapbook:T

You put me to shame when all I've done all afternoon is look for images of Rudolph for my magic reindeer food (covered gravy granule tub with gold paper, stuck label on and then found a round picture for inside the lid -that took ages...............lol) - now doing Snowman Soup labels with instructions that its t be left out for Santa on Christmas Eve - took me ages to think up a verse to put on it.........................lol:rotfl:

yummy - have a look at the Sock Monkey thread - loads of them on there

I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !
