Hi all firstly (((hugs))) to Rusty hope things get sorted for you soon. Got a couple of questions for you lovely people on here firstly I have bought my son a senso coffee maker and thought I would do a coffee hamper to go with it, he loves the expensive coffee places so thought I would get some of those sugar stirrers and those little biscuits they have, would like to get some of those disposable coffee cups with the funny lids, does anyone know where you can get them??? I know Ebay do them but they only seem to do large amounts and I only need a few, any ideas.
Also I managed to buy some plastic picnic cups cheap in the sales and im going to fill them with sweeties for my nieces and nephews, I would like to personlise them with their names, does anyone know what I can use that wont wash off???
    Thanks in advance
    Tracey X

    How about this cup instead...http://www.firebox.com/product/2120/I-Am-Not-A-Paper-Cup
Or one of those thermal mugs with a lid? I often use ours at home when I make a full cafetiere of coffee, so I have one big mug to drink straight away, and the rest in there to keep warm and have a bit later.
And I found a wonderful coffee shop in London last week. It's in Soho and is called Algerian coffee store ( http://www.algcoffee.co.uk/ ). They do a blueberry cobbler flavour coffee, which is fab! They also do a huge range of tea. The website does not do the shop justice-if you can, pop in.
    Mmmmm....coffee....:rotfl:

right, well I don't know where my other post has gone so I'll repeat it............

Rusty, sorry to hear of your problems, hope everything gets sorted out satisfactorily (sp?) (((hugs)))

Also, in view of your footie themed hamper - have you seen in ASDA that they have boxed circular playing cards with a black & white football motif on them for £1 (also have wooden yo-yos, same price)

Thanks Chris. Just been to asda and didn't see any of these!!! maybe I wasn't looking hard enough :( Will look for next time. I need some chocky footballs which was mentioned earlier on in this thread by someone. Just picked up a black flannel and a white flannel so going to do a pint glass cupcake see if I can get it to sit right before buying a nufc tankard from the NUFC shop.

An update on the yucky things going on ... got appointment with solicitor on Monday at 11am to see if I can get any help with legal aid so I don't have to try and fight this on my own! so fingers crossed.

    Cookie dough, congratulations ......

We have got 2 weddings 2 go 2 next year,,,,we have got an unused wedding album with no box that was bought for us last year.. was thinking of recycling it and putting it in with a hamper for one,,,,but wanted to ask you all if you have any ideas on how to 'present' it with the other items so it doesn't look odd. (being without a box)

    Regards Mr and mrs t

They were in the seasonal aisle (:rotfl: doesn't look right spelling and I can't think any other way) with boxed sets of things that were 342 - although I don't think the cards were.

fingers firmly crossed for you ;)

passion8 - the bags are from here: http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Beads-Needs-UK - and they were called Large Shimmering Organza bags. He reduces postage if you buy more than one thing, I paid yesterday afternoon and they arrived this morning so very quick delivery :)

    Thanks so much lilian :)

There's a bit of a glitch going on, although I know it's not strictly hamper making, but some weird bargains (for hampers lol) are going through on Boots online :) hths

  • I am new to the world of making hampers as I don't consider myself a creative person but I have been looking at the gorgeous photos and I am so impressed so will give it a go for this year.
I plan to do a large pamper basket for my mum, and smaller pamper gifts for my sister-in-law and two best friends.
I haven't been able to find any baskets yet, but I was in Sainsbury's this morning and spotted two plastic serving bowls (suitable for serving crisps) for £1.49 and thought these will look lovely for the smaller ones. I also paid a little visit to Poundland and bought some candles and flannels to make some cupcakes (already ordered the cases from eBay). I also grabbed a bargain in Superdrug as I spotted some shower flowers which are pink and made of foam as they were cheaper than the scrunchies at 69p each, anyway when I got to the till to pay and they were scanned they came up as 6p each so they only cost me 18p for the 3 and they look really good.
I will probably be shouting for help once it comes wrapping once I get the xmas cellophane but so far so good :) I'm so excited!!!
My mantra is "Never pay full price!" ;)

For people who want to hide the contents, how about using the foil-type gift wrap? You know the stuff that's silver on one side and kind of holographic on the other? Hope that make sense! I remember seeing rolls of it in the £1 last year, so I'm sure it'll be easy to find this year too. They are normally fairly plain too, so would be ok for birthdays.

I keep seeing that everyone is makins sock muffins and was just wondering how that worked? Do I roll the socks up, tie an elastic round and put them in a muffin case? They look really good in everyone's photos! Also if anyone is interested I picked up a X Factor DVD game from Play.com today for £2.99 thought it might be useful for someone, if not for a hamper then for a little stocking filler! Here's the link; http://www.play.com/DVD/DVD/4-/3440818/The-X-Factor/Product.html
