I've nearly finished all my presents but I need help with the kids Grandad (ex's step dad)
This is all about him - he's a man , he goes ten pin bowling, fishing, works on the railway and loves chocolate (but he keeps putting on weight)
I thought of doing a fishing hamper but the only ideas I can come up with are things I've already brought him in the past

Hi all firstly (((hugs))) to Rusty hope things get sorted for you soon. Got a couple of questions for you lovely people on here firstly I have bought my son a senso coffee maker and thought I would do a coffee hamper to go with it, he loves the expensive coffee places so thought I would get some of those sugar stirrers and those little biscuits they have, would like to get some of those disposable coffee cups with the funny lids, does anyone know where you can get them??? I know Ebay do them but they only seem to do large amounts and I only need a few, any ideas.
Also I managed to buy some plastic picnic cups cheap in the sales and im going to fill them with sweeties for my nieces and nephews, I would like to personlise them with their names, does anyone know what I can use that wont wash off???
    Thanks in advance
    Tracey X

I think these r great not sure if they'd be his thing tho hehe

Hi Wendy witch ... The grabitnow deal for the day is the worlds smallest fishing rod, may be of use?

    My first post!

I have been reading this forum for a while now and have to admit I am hooked!

I've been inspired by all your clever hamper ideas :T and am busy buying up bits and pieces to make my own. My daughter usually gets a pile of individually wrapped bits in her stocking - but the hampers are so much nicer (especially as she is 24 now!)

Phew! That wasn't too painful! :rotfl:

Hi everyone, love the baskets you have all done, you have inspired me to do some myself but cant get photos onto the computer as my phone wont connect.

Anyone doing football related hampers, Wilkinsons are selling chocolate wrapped footballs, 3 bags for £1, my daughter picked up 3 bags for me on her way home from school but one bag was nearly finished by the time she got home lol. I have rewrapped the footballs in small cello bags with a bit of curling ribbon, doesnt look many in a bag but will do, would probably have split the 3 bags into two if I had had the chance lol.

Also for those making sock monkeys, Wilkinsons also have a pack of googly eyes for just 70p, they are two sizes and great for the monkeys. I stuck mine on with superglue as they are going to teenagers more as ornaments than actual toys.

    Hope this helped someone.

What about doing him a hamper for his fishing with a flask, some nice biscuits, wipes to wipe his hands on to eat the biccys, a hat to keep him warm, a blanket for his legs, you could also put a nice fishing mug in there, and maybe a couple of bags of sweets, mints etc.

My nan absolutely loves Baileys so I'm going to do her a Baileys themed hamper. I'm going to spend a little more than I would on others because she's lovely and deserves it.

I'm going to get her a big bottle of Baileys (we've got a Macro card so hopefully I can get a bottle cheaper there), a box of Baileys truffles (seen them in Tesco for £4.99 - hopefully find them cheaper elsewhere too).

Gonna get her a couple of glasses to drink from (maybe some of those glass coffee ones)! I thought I might make her some Baileys flavoured fudge myself and put it in a nice bag or box and then put together and print out the recipe for a Baileys latte for her.

Finally I'm going to wrap it all in Baileys colours (dark brown tissue paper, burgundy, green and gold curling ribbon) so she doesn't know what things are before she opens them.

This sounds lovely .......................but i am running out of people to buy for!!

right, well I don't know where my other post has gone so I'll repeat it............

Rusty, sorry to hear of your problems, hope everything gets sorted out satisfactorily (sp?) (((hugs)))

Also, in view of your footie themed hamper - have you seen in ASDA that they have boxed circular playing cards with a black & white football motif on them for £1 (also have wooden yo-yos, same price)

tab1967 - how about just going in to a coffee shop and asking if you can buy a few cups - chances are if you offer to pay they'll let you have them for free. Best going to a local independent one really because you'll probably get unbranded ones then.

passion8 - the bags are from here: http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Beads-Needs-UK - and they were called Large Shimmering Organza bags. He reduces postage if you buy more than one thing, I paid yesterday afternoon and they arrived this morning so very quick delivery :)
