Salduck, your bargain hunting is amazing! I never seem to be able to do this.
Although today I picked up a high school musical selection pack (stationary) for £4.99 which I was happy with
O.k, Im doing a Plymouth Argyle hamper and a High School Musical hamper. Does anyone have any idea what I can use as the hamper? Really dont want to use wicker baskets as dont think the kids will appreciate them. Thought somthing themed would be more interesting.....Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

this might sound daft but- when hampers are done and they are cellophaned how do u secure it at the top ??? do you just use ribbon or do you use something else under the ribbon and bows??? just so i know :-) any help appreciated!!!!! and where is the cheapest and best place to get nice bows???
As shazspice said, an elastic band is good as you can leave them on
For bows I use flowerhour on ebay - but maybe a local florist might sell you some? hthOh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive. ~ Sir Walter Scott0 -

My dear Mil has just put this on me and announced its my hubby's aunties 60th birthday tomorrow and could I make a hamper. I havent got time to pop into town today so I might have to pop to Asda after OH comes home.
Unfortunately she also said she would like to do a joint hamper as the uncle is 60 soon and she'd like to give it together !!??!!. However (although its her brother and wife) they are not that close and she doesn't know what they like. So the only suggestion she came up with is Champagne and Chocolate with a £20 budget!!!
I really wish she had given me more time to come up with something really nice but the clock is really against me. I tried to suggest other things like retro hamper, a special tree with message for the garden etc but she just wasn't interested.
Anybody got any ideas what else I could put in?? :rolleyes:Little Miss Chatterbox

Miniature bottle of wine? or a spirit miniature? Maybe make up a couple of washcloth cupcakes to fill it out a little? if you have a morrisons local then they have loads of offers on their chockys at the moment. Thank you Rusty I was thinking of the cupcakes because I've made up a few of these before. I could make up a his and hers. Good idea about the miniatures i'll have a look later. Nearest Morrisons is about 20 miles away but may be worth popping in if i have no luck in Asda. Got a busy day today i've got to help Dad sort a few things out (him and Mum recently got divorced after 33 years long story and bit of a nightmare) and muggins here has to help him with his finances!!!!! So i'm not going to be able to get to town and I'm busting a gut to go to Home Bargains but I doubt if i'll get there before closing.:DLittle Miss Chatterbox

Hi guys, after reading your posts I am going to do hampers for everyone this year!! I have been lucky enough to find two hamper baskets in charity shops, and have bought a storage box from Wilkos.
The thing I'd like some help with is this - I want to do a hamper for my OH but I want to use something that will be useful after. He is a DIY'er, keeps a marine tank, cycles and gardening. Any ideas?
Also, does anyone know where I can find some cheap cocktail glasses?
By the way, my OH thinks I'm completely off my chump coz I'm getting so excited and enjoying doing this so much!!! I am doing spiced plums in brandy and strawberry vodka next week."A" is for Opple if yowm spaking loike a yamyam!0
