I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas for a hamper for a couple getting married next month? My brother-in-law is getting married & wants everyone to pay towards his honeymoon
I don't like the idea of paying for his honeymoon, shouldn't spend so much on his wedding..... that i can't attend. Anyways i'd rather buy them something little or make a basket.
I've done baskets before at christmas but they were for just ladies.
I don't want to spend loads on them as money is tight. I thought a basket of some sort would be nicer than giving them £20 towards their honeymoon :rotfl:
They have their own place already so toasters & kettle are a no no lol.
Thanks guys“Hope is the only bee that makes honey without flowers.”
Some people only dream of angels, i held one in my arms.
Praying this baby makes it.0 -

I'd do them a hamper of things they can use of Honeymoon. Depends what they're doing but for a hot one how about suncream, beach towel, one of those water spray things etc. Or how about a celebration hamper- mini bottle of Champs (or cava), a couple of champagne flutes and a little box of choccies. Maybe some massage oil or bath oil too?
Hope that helps, let us know what you decide.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
I finished my first hamper yesterday - woohoo! For me, this is organised!
Its a small gardening one for my mums foster mum. Will post a pic once i've taken one!
Rusty, did you find a suitable 'jute' or 'hessian' bag to put your fairtrade hamper in? I'm looking for something similar, but the ones in asda are too small and the tesco ones are covered in advertising!!0 -

They had some hessian/jute bags in our Cancer Research shop today with the new stuff they sell. Don't know how much they they were I'm afraid but may be worth popping in for a look if you're near a shop. Or maybe in other charity shops with their new stuff.0 -
Hi
I'm a lurker on this thread.... usually trying to keep up to date with the Boots thread!!
Anyway, my reason for posting is that I've found a website that does decent sized Organza bags for putting 'stuff' in that just doesn't look quite right in a basket......http://www.islepac.co.uk/
They do bags in every style, colour and size! I ordered 20 large organza bags and 10 mini tote bags, and the total was just over £16 (just £2.70 for delivery).
Have a look - http://s372.photobucket.com/albums/oo168/katerinababa/
I've also put on there a couple of baskets full of Boots free goodies that I did for a couple of local charities.
HTH someone
Julie
BTW - all cellophane and bows are from Flowerhour - where else!!!!0 -
Some great ideas there for my son's hamper - thanks so much. I've never posted photos before but will definitely post this one - if someone can tell me how to do it! I have a digital camera but the uploading bit sounds tricky!!0

Hi Yummy I just used the Cath Kidston tescos bags and they look fine. I am not too bothered about the small tesco icon on the bottom as they hampers are fairtrade anyway so its all in a good cause.Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
Oh sorry Rusty, thought i'd read you were going to find a hessian one for the male pressie! Imagining things hehe
Will check out the charity shops, and possibly Tesco - no big ones close to me! x0
