I would get 5m each of two rolls... just so you can have a choice! Don't forget to order your bows too ( unless of course you already have them).

If you haven't wrapped with cello before... just follow rainmac's easy to follow instructions

I've spent the last few days reading through this entire thread and I have to say I'm inspired! My bf thinks I've totally lost the plot as I now have a spreadsheet on the computer marked 'Christmas 2008' which contains the list of things I'm intending to include in hampers. Everyone I have to buy presents for is getting a hamper this year!
I'm trying to have quite a money saving Christmas this year as I tend to overspend and end up still paying for Christmas in April! I've cut down on the amount of people I'm buying for but was really struggling as to what I could buy for them, but now all you lovely, lovely people have made me realise I can put together a fabulous gift basket for less than £15!
I'm going all out money saving - I'm even making brownies, cookies, cakes, truffles and other sweet things to pad out the hampers a little.
So thank you all for being so inspiring and giving me a Christmas obsession in August! lol
Just wanted to say that, when I first joined here, sugarhunny was kind enough to send me a spreadsheet that I have found soooo helpful, it's kept me focused and on track, and saved me a fortune to boot!! So good luck, and remember to post your pics (says me, who hasn't posted any yet, still waiting to put them together, no storage).

Charity shops, pound shops, ebay (check p&p costs), Wilkos, Home Bargains, Dunnelm Mill, supermarkets sometimes have them on offer...

  • Time to pick your brains again. We are going away for christmas, staying in a lovely cottage.

I thought it would be a nice idea to put together a christmas eve hamper for my daughter, who will be 4 and my OH.

Any ideas on what I can put in?

How about a new stocking - possibly personalised. My aunty makes stockings and each person has their name cross stitched on the top. Some cookies for Santa and carrots for Rudolph and The Night Before Christmas Book x
Can't think of anything for OH though at mo x
