Ok so yesterday I managed to find some pretty tea trays in need of a new home (au naturale sale 50p!) o grabbed a couple and thought I might be able to get away with using these instead of a hamper for my grandad and then another one for my aunt and uncle. Its all fairtrade stuff apart from 2 cath kidson bags from tescos which are made from plastic bottles. (where can I put them? Will look daft, unles I can kind of roll them and stand them up somewhere)
Consists of, Fairtrade tea, Fairtrade coffee, Fairtrade hot chocky sachets, Fairtrade cereal bars, Fairtrade Jam, Fairtrade milk chocky and a cup each (in green to go with grean and fairtrade type theme.
I quickly put it all together this morning and here they are...
    My uncle and Aunts:

    and one for my grandad

Thinking I can use double sided tape under each item to get it to stay in place then wrap with cellophane as normal. Can't complete them as yet as I need to buy a block of cheese for my aunt (allergic to chocky)

Can anyone think of any more ideas to put on these? or do they look expensive enough?

Hi ladsmadd, I used this site to buy lots of different old fashioned liquorice sweets for my FIL birthday present. P&p is a bit high (but most sweets sites are due to the weight of the sweets :D ). My order arrived the next day so service was fab, couldn't fault it and each type of sweet came wrapped in cute stripey paper bags.

Like Rusty, I'm also going to do sweet jars for bloke Xmas presents. I've got my jars from Ikea already and am going to have a look in Woolies at the sweet range - think prices will be cheaper than online. I want to get sweets that were around in the 70s/80s.

For your neice, how about playdoh, colouring books/crayons, coloured paper, stickers...places like Wilkos and poundshops have great stuff at reasonable prices.

    HTH :D

hi rainmac, thank you for the link to sweets,

i think my niece might like a colouring hamper thanks.

For you niece's colouring hamper - you can get a 'toolbox' type container that's colourful - might make a good container for the hamper as she can keep her things in it. You can buy from Wilkinsons - W H Smith do their own craft hamper which is expensive but might give you some ideas. Or you can try The Works Outlet if you have one near you.

    And all of you ...
These themed 'hampers' are a lovely idea - so much thought, love and care goes into them. Your recipients are truly lucky! :T

Hi dont know if it,s any good but Tesco had hessian bags, not sure what is on them some green writing, but they were reduced to 50p they were near the checkouts alongside the Cath Kidson ones, seen lots of men using them so might be ok.
    Tracy

Saw the hessian ones, infact think I have one somewhere!!! (yes I am dozy and forget to take my reusables ones out in the pushchair!) I did notice a fairtrade hessian one somewhere, just need to remember if it was asda or tescos now!!! Thanks

    Hi ladsmadd,

I was quite lucky as things like the cups were on 3 for 2 and were 60p each from aunaturale, the tray again was from there and only 50p reduced from £3.
In tescos they do fairtrade cereal bars but they're £1.99 a pack with 3 in them so I bought 2 packs as I have 3 different people to give them to so made it worthwhile just splitting the packs and sharing out.

Hi Valli :) ... just to add to your post in instore they do a princess truck on wheels (its a smaller plastic storage container on wheels with a lid in pink!) has Disney princess on it, they also do a disney cars one which is exactly the same but red and has cars on it. I found them quite highly priced though at £4.99. (and even higher priced on ebay £10.99) Managed to steal an image from someone on ebay.

sorry can't find princess one on there!
