Ok so yesterday I managed to find some pretty tea trays in need of a new home (au naturale sale 50p!) o grabbed a couple and thought I might be able to get away with using these instead of a hamper for my grandad and then another one for my aunt and uncle. Its all fairtrade stuff apart from 2 cath kidson bags from tescos which are made from plastic bottles. (where can I put them? Will look daft, unles I can kind of roll them and stand them up somewhere)
Consists of, Fairtrade tea, Fairtrade coffee, Fairtrade hot chocky sachets, Fairtrade cereal bars, Fairtrade Jam, Fairtrade milk chocky and a cup each (in green to go with grean and fairtrade type theme.
I quickly put it all together this morning and here they are...
    My uncle and Aunts:

    and one for my grandad

Thinking I can use double sided tape under each item to get it to stay in place then wrap with cellophane as normal. Can't complete them as yet as I need to buy a block of cheese for my aunt (allergic to chocky)

Can anyone think of any more ideas to put on these? or do they look expensive enough?

I think i would wrap the above gifts and then place them into the tesco bag ,saves on gift bag too lol ...your making me want to go to au naturel but i can't be bothered going out today:mad:

Thanks Mrs proudmum thats actually a good idea :) ... I never thought of that ... which would mean I need to find a natural shopping style bag now to fit my grandads in as I don't think he would appreciate blue spotty or even flowery cath kidson bags :o

Thanks Rainmac ... I wanted them to look expensive, even though they really weren't that expensive :o

If you live in Birmingham and are on Freecycle a youth club has 50 baskets to get rid of - the kind that you put flowers in with a large hoopy handle.

Ideas wanted for an 18th birthday hamper for my sister, who will be starting uni after the summer. Thought about a hamper full of essentials for leaving home and luxury items and novelty items.
    Need some inspiration.

    So far the ideas are.

dried/packet/tin food stuffs at the bottom, coffee etc essentials for starting off in new accommodation.
    Teddy with 18 on it
    Frame with photo in it.
    Fancy notepad and matching pen
    Toiletries/make up
    umbrella
    towel

If she hasn't/won't have access to them what about mugs (and teaspoons) - more than one in case she has mates to ask; coffemate or similar
Plastic containers for protecting her precious supplies
a torch - just in case - ooh sorry - someone else posted that but it must be a good idea!

Hi dont know if it,s any good but Tesco had hessian bags, not sure what is on them some green writing, but they were reduced to 50p they were near the checkouts alongside the Cath Kidson ones, seen lots of men using them so might be ok.

    Hi all!

Bit away for a few days but I forgot to tell you that in my local tesco (skegness) last week they had these cute little green watering cans for about 37p! Would be useful for gardening hampers.

Rainmac - I know it was a while back but thanks for those cupcake links!! :D

Could you use coffee jar's and place a piece of material on the top with rubber band/ribbon.

I am sure a local market would be best place to find the sweets cheapest:T

For 2 year old is she near potting training? you could make a pink set up with potti/knickers/ pretty loo roll/book to read on loo /big girls star chart for doing well.

I am hopeless with men lol chocolate and smellies!!

What are there interests? Are none of the car cleaning baskets or movie night hampers any good that other people have done?

thank you for the ideas.I really like the coffee jars idea, might have to ask friends to save a few as have to make one for dad aswell. Brother can have chocolate/smellies set.:rotfl:

My niece has already started potty training, but thanks for idea.

For anyone that is thinking of doing this idea poundworld had 2 pack of toilet wipes for £1 and kandoo hand wash £1
