Hi, just thought you'd all like to know that Wilkinsons have a 1/2 price sale on alot of their home/kitchen goods. They had storage boxes with lids in purple/pink and silver/grey which would be good for childrens hampers as they could use the boxes after they have finished with their goodies! Also I bought a Simpsons beer bucket down to £2.50 which I know have been mentioned on here before, good for men/teenagers, they also had Simpson lap trays, aprons and oven gloves all at 50% off!!! Alot of the other trays/aprons/oven gloves/placemats were also 50%off, aswell as other things. Hope this helps somebody.

Thanks for that, was planning popping over to Wilkinsons one day next week (wanted to go this week, but my nearest one is in Farnborough so not a good place to go whilst the air show is on lol). Am on the lookout for storage boxes and placemats atm anyway, currently having our garage converted to a playroom - freeing up our conservatory so it can be used as a dining room!

Ideas wanted for an 18th birthday hamper for my sister, who will be starting uni after the summer. Thought about a hamper full of essentials for leaving home and luxury items and novelty items.
    Need some inspiration.

    So far the ideas are.

dried/packet/tin food stuffs at the bottom, coffee etc essentials for starting off in new accommodation.
    Teddy with 18 on it
    Frame with photo in it.
    Fancy notepad and matching pen
    Toiletries/make up
    umbrella
    towel

Could you use coffee jar's and place a piece of material on the top with rubber band/ribbon.

I am sure a local market would be best place to find the sweets cheapest:T

For 2 year old is she near potting training? you could make a pink set up with potti/knickers/ pretty loo roll/book to read on loo /big girls star chart for doing well.

I am hopeless with men lol chocolate and smellies!!

What are there interests? Are none of the car cleaning baskets or movie night hampers any good that other people have done?

    Hi Jarsmad,

One of the regular crafty people on here has just done a hamper of sweets for her dad. Her name is Rainmac. Think she found an old fashioned website for sweets, can't find the link now but there is also this one http://www.aquarterof.co.uk/ As for jars if you have an ikea locally then you could pick up this
http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/00030262 which is perfect for a sweet jar (this is what I plan to do with my kiddies and OH for christmas and then fill it with favourites layered to look pretty.) If you don't have an ikea then Asda so a similar jar which isn't quite as shaped if you know what I mean, I think Asda ones are also 99p

Hope this helps, but I am sure rainmac will be on here shortly giving you some advice ;)

Ok so yesterday I managed to find some pretty tea trays in need of a new home (au naturale sale 50p!) o grabbed a couple and thought I might be able to get away with using these instead of a hamper for my grandad and then another one for my aunt and uncle. Its all fairtrade stuff apart from 2 cath kidson bags from tescos which are made from plastic bottles. (where can I put them? Will look daft, unles I can kind of roll them and stand them up somewhere)
Consists of, Fairtrade tea, Fairtrade coffee, Fairtrade hot chocky sachets, Fairtrade cereal bars, Fairtrade Jam, Fairtrade milk chocky and a cup each (in green to go with grean and fairtrade type theme.
I quickly put it all together this morning and here they are...
    My uncle and Aunts:

    and one for my grandad

Thinking I can use double sided tape under each item to get it to stay in place then wrap with cellophane as normal. Can't complete them as yet as I need to buy a block of cheese for my aunt (allergic to chocky)

Can anyone think of any more ideas to put on these? or do they look expensive enough?

Hi ladsmadd, I used this site to buy lots of different old fashioned liquorice sweets for my FIL birthday present. P&p is a bit high (but most sweets sites are due to the weight of the sweets :D ). My order arrived the next day so service was fab, couldn't fault it and each type of sweet came wrapped in cute stripey paper bags.

Like Rusty, I'm also going to do sweet jars for bloke Xmas presents. I've got my jars from Ikea already and am going to have a look in Woolies at the sweet range - think prices will be cheaper than online. I want to get sweets that were around in the 70s/80s.

For your neice, how about playdoh, colouring books/crayons, coloured paper, stickers...places like Wilkos and poundshops have great stuff at reasonable prices.

    HTH :D
