I'm just hooked on these hampers. I've been making them for every occasion since last Christmas and people are just thrilled with them. I'm now in demand for 'dressing up' other people's gifts for them to give. Thinking of putting some together for pre Christmas craft fairs etc. Has anyone done so and can I have some ideas on what is popular and what to charge etc?
  • I am soooo glad I stumbled across this thread - the hampers are fantastic & very inspiring!!! Thank you everyone!!!
    :T
I'm going to make one for my daughter - she's going to be 13 in August so any ideas would be gratefully received!!! I'm thinking pink & girly but suitable for a TEENAGER!!! Aaaagghh, can't believe I'm going to be a mum to a teenager, makes me feel so old!!!:rotfl: :rotfl:

The 17 gift with purchase at Boots at the moment is cool - it's make up but only eyeshadow, nail varnish and lip gloss so nothing too intense. You get it when you spend £5 on 17 products. Don't know if she's a makeup wearer (or if you let her!)?

There are 3 things for £5 on Avon online at the moment, some of their body lotions and bubble baths look gorgeous.

Fluffy socks are always cute - you could make them into a cupcake! Along with a cupcake flannel :)

Otherwise...hmmm. What does she like? Does she have a mobile yet? Mobile phone charm? Voucher for a CD?

  • Thanks lilian1977 there are some great ideas there. Actually wants a mobile phone for her birthday so a charm is a brill idea!!! Has started experimenting with make-up & the Boots stuff looks really nice but not too 'old' so will definitely have a look. I've decided I'm not going to use a wicker basket, I'm thinking of looking for a pink plastic 'something' that she can use to put all her new bits and pieces in!!!

They have pink baskets in The Pier at the moment (thanks to bebebelle for the tip!) , they're half price (£3.50) and you get 3 - the pink one is the biggest.

    then the chocolate chest ....

    morning handsome plate/cup/bowl £2.99

i had an idea for a basket whilst shopping :T as i bought a fly squatter

    THE ANNOYING BOX

so far i thought of ...

    a fly squatter

a tray of toffee that sticks to teeth

a jar that's hard to open

    a puzzle?

    puzzle book?

:rotfl: any more suggestions that are annoying?:T

I do have a dilema tho i do not think i will be able to make your lovely wrapped baskets in the florists stuff because we have a very hairy springer spanial and nothing is sacred from white dog hairs and i suspect that will attact them like glue

how abotu a rubix cube - those things always irritate the hell out of me

how abotu supergluing round the lid of the jar to make it extra annoying.

i got my sister a treat a few years ago. I brought her a nice bottle of wine that she liked and wrapped it nicely. Then took another role of cellotape and instead of neatly cellotaping along the seams i just started the cellotape on the bottom completely covering it, then wrapped the cellotape round the bottle from top to bottom with no paper that wasnt covered by tape. Took her about 3 hours to get into it and another 2.5 to get the wrapping off. Was funny to watch but it irritated the hell out of her - im considerign doign it again this year but with an empty bottle! :D

Where did you get the lynx chocolate stuff from ? Might be an idea for my teenage grandson..........he's having a 'box of all sorts' this year and christmas and birthday makes it a bit hard to think what to get.

As for annoying pressies..........double sided jigsaw ??
