Do they have plans for their trip? Could you get tickets/vouchers for a show or exhibition or meal out?
Do you shop in Tesco, can you do anything with Clubcard vouchers so would actually cost much less? Have a look at the bargain buys bit of the forum as they often have restuarant deals, tickets etc listed. If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -

Hi mrsproudmum,
Just a couple of ideas for your OH...
- a homemade voucher book - each voucher can be something you'll do for your OH so he can 'cash in' the vouchers.
- a jar of facts, type/write little known facts on slips pf paper, fold up each one individually and pop in a jar, add label to front of jar "fact a day" or something like that.
- sweetie jar, fill with sweets from yesteryear.
- today's item on http://www.grabitnow.com/ is pocket suduko, not everone's cup of tea but wondered if your OH might like it. Bargain for £1.98 (but only if it's going to be used!).
Hope you managed to get some sleep:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
Phew !!!! Just finished covering a shoe box !!! What a battle!!.......one of those where the lid's attached to the box !! Too fiddly for me so I mixed up some wallpaper paste and covered the whole thing with brown paper (anything to hide the bright orange !!)
Now waiting for it to dry off before I put some bits of scrapbooking stuff on.
I got some slogans I can cut and put randomly and some designs on that sort of see through paper (don't know what its called)
When its all done........its contents will be
Small wooden slatted box filled with hand made soap and a nail brush
Two glass candle holders -decorated in blue with candles in
Metal covered photo album (I intend to put the photos in of the various stages of our wildlife pond being done. It's all for our ex foster lad who created the pond for us when he lived here and he's lost the photos he had)
Metal tea cup type coasters saying 'Hot' and 'Tea'
Blue hanging crystals.
When it's all done I shall tie the box with cream ribbon.
No particular theme to it (apart from mostly blue and metal). This lad likes a 'box of bits' :jMary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

I'm making a random box like that for a friend, she likes dogs and tea! And she keeps asking if she can borrow the Ewan McGregor/Charlie Boorman books from me so I've got those cheap in Tesco, going to buy an "I Love Dogs" mug from Qualilty Save and then some tea and biscuits! Anything else I could put in?My debt free diary | Post Office loan: £2131 1429.38 | Barclaycard: £4429 1988.12 | Paypal Credit £322.71 574.91 | Monzo Flex £169.03 |

What about one of those beanie dogs? They're only a couple of pounds.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0 -
My box..............forgot to mention the cost - £4.50 altogether
Oh and another thing I'm giving him is a wine bottle I filled with cheap bubble bath (had a load given me earlier in the year). OH supplied wine bottle.....lol
and I stuck a cartoon type label on it.Mary
