Just wanted to add my thanks too
I did five DVD box hampers in the end...one was for a couple who are very good friends, & contained a 350g bag of hero type choccies that I found for 99p in a local discount store & 2 fairy pens for her & a tub of candy floss & parrot car air freshner for him, plus one of those cute signs for their kitchen & of course the box itself.....don't know the reaction to that one yet, but the offspring's dad had a 'plain choc' with digestives, MrT's kitkat thingies & the such, but then he never says much but looked fairly pleased:o
The reaction from the offspring as they sorted thru their boxes was a total surprise:shocked: They all had individual toblorone, sherbet fountain, pineapple & cola cubes, space dust, etc plus a bag of dried pineapple mango & toasted coconut & a puzzle book. They are all in their 20s but each compared the contents with the others & so everyone had to search to see if they had a Dime bar or whatever too:rotfl: :rotfl:
Trouble is they want another next year:eek:

Thank you thank you for a great thread!!!
Not had chance to post my pics - but I made 4 baskets.
Pamper one for my mum containing lots of bath stuff, dove & olay bits and no 7 make up, a real ale and whiskey for my dad - another small pamper one for step-daughter and a choc/sweetie one for hubby!!!
All went down a treat - even getting some "ooooohhhs" & "aaaaahs" for parents next door neighbours!!!
Can we have a "Baskets 2008" thread please???
I have already started collecting bits for my baskets next year. I have a box of bits I had receieved free, bogof or unwanted presents!!!
Excellent idea and great thread

I made my parents a hamper for my parents and will be making them for them throughout the year! I didn't take a picture of the one I did for them but it included: *Starbucks Christmas blend coffee
*Tin of M&S family favourite biscuits
*M&S 3 for £5 chocs
*Bottle of Asda Cava
*Chocolate drink stirrers
*Sachets of Cafedirect cocoa (freebie!)
OH bought some fab retro sweets from Julian Graves so once we put the shredded paper in the bottom, and the products on top, we filled in the gaps with the sweets. Mum was still beaming about it when we left yesterday.
I love making hampers and cannot wait to make the next one.

I hate to be morbid <<it is in a humourous sort of way>>, but I hope I don't pop my cloggs before next Xmas because whoever had to clear out my house would wonder what the 'eck all the gifts were for, not to mention shredded tissue and bits of cellophane, hidden in every nook and cranny, including under the beds!0

I just thought of that rosie when I was clearing out three storage boxes a bit ago............so much stuff in them and why ??? No-one would ever know. The only one that spoke for itself was the one with my water colour stuff in it.............lol the rest were a lot of papers I dont know why I kept and a few odds and ends that are going to be ideal for christmas hampers.........!
Now I'm going to stick a label on them so that I know exactly where to look for stuffMary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

I spent a lot more than I would usually spend, I kept seeing more things, buying them and putting them in. I didn't add up how much it had cost me, (too scared), but they were appreciated by everyone, I had loads of compliments, but am worried that they will all expect one next year. Oh well, I'll have to start now! :beer:0 -
I didn't dare add up the contents either, the only saving grace was I purchased bits and bobs, including specials and BOGOF's with my weekly shop, so it didn't seem so painful.0

Well, I did baskets for my mom, dad, father in law, mother in law, aunt & uncle (a joint one) & for two frinds, I spent less than I normally would, & they went down a storm every one loved them, so thanks for every one on this thread who gave some great ideas. I have started again for next year , I have just sorted my gift book out & I have got all my special cards.
Thanks Ginga0 -

Suppose it depends what things you put in them. My dad has said if he gives me the basket back can he have another next year - he really loved it. But i will have to think of another theme so its not just the same old stuff.:D
Thanks sm... i did think of that but my mum has had two years of hampers ~ she asked this year for one. But we were chatting only today and she said dont do another. So i am not instead everyone will have the rudolph soap things (posted a couple of pages back) a handmade item (scarf & gloves or a soft toy) and money. I want one year where my cupboards arnt rammed full all year around.
Thank God, it's not just me!

Well i made mum two hampers not this year but last and the total was over £100  That didnt include anything i had in my cupboards alreadyThis year she asked for another but luckly it cost only £60 but thats because some of the bath stuffs i bulk brought for myself i am now alergic to so she got loads for very little. There is no way i am making more this coming year... they are cheap but i dont find them very wow anymore.
