thnaks for al the tips this year , Mine went down a storm especially the girly bin hampers for my neices and to think they cost under £4 my sisters will never guess LOL
My aunt loved hers, and my sister loved her dove basket ( mega cheap) I haven't heard from my Mum though and am a bit disapointed to have had no reaction to say the least .
I'm no sure I will be doing them again next year , i have an idea of Knitng scarf's and making a matching set of jewellery for each of the ladies . if I start soon it shouldn't be too much work and will keep me busy while youngest DS is at school.
I have no idea what to do for the men next year though so will have to put my thinking cap onI am journeying to a debt-free life.
Our estimated debt-free date is January 2040. I'm on a mission to bring that date closer!

Can I just ask how do people decide what they are doing for nexy year as I know a lot of people buy throughout the year- which is what I would like to do. but I have no idea what anyone will be wanting next christmas - or do you just say buy all the sale bits from boots and say build up a pamper hamper and then decide who to give it to later?0

:T:DMine went down well also thanks all.
Even my MIL was impressed :rotfl:Just back into comping past few months to help me get over rubbish in life.... won Hotpoint fridge freezer, soda stream0 -
I've no idea who will want what either but its more of a surprise if they don't know what they're getting. I'll be rummaging round the charity shops and boot fairs for some 'unwanted gifts'........this time of year is a good time to get them ..............that way I'll keep the price down as well as creating (I hope) some baskets that are interesting and fun to have.:jMary

Thats what I do for my son...............easier for posting to him.
I've got a collection of shoe boxes I painted that I use as storage on my shelves but never bothered to do that to a shoe box if I send it.........maybe I should. Would save wrapping it in wrapping paper...........there's a thought.Mary

Many, many thanks to all of you for all the wonderful ideas in this thread, as a result of which (a) I made and gave some really innovative, interesting (and reasonably inexpensive) hamper gifts to friends and family this year, and (b) my children now go around calling me "hamper woman"

I have already bought some smellies for next years hampers - I have lots of Birthdays coming up so folks will be getting hampers. I used Avon 5 for a fiver and in Boots yesterday they were selling stuff off for as little as 40p. I only decide who is getting what when I actually sit down with the hamper.0
