  • All your baskets look really good!

Here's the one I've made for my BIL - italian inspired with reindeer shaped pasta, bread sticks, Italian pasta sauce, olive oil, balsamic vinegar and a cd all in a colander.

    It just needs wrapping now!

I've done a choccie one for my SIL and a Yorkshire Tea one for the ILs but they'll need some tissue paper in the basket - which I've not got yet!

    Wow guys

I had resigned myself to the fact I couldn't afford to get my Mum and Dad anything for Christmas this year, they have everything they need and anything they dont is out of my budget. I'd told my Mum and she was lovely about it

But having seen your wonderful baskets I've figured I can do them a 'night in' basket for very little at all and then I won't feel so bad about not getting them anything. They know how hideously skint I am but this way I can get to give them something to unwrap

I only have a couple of days to put it together and it wont look half as impresive as yours but I can do my best to give them a little bit of something

Thanks once again for the inspiration - and next year EVERYONE is getting one of these - little bits and bargains thru the year are gonna make ace presents! I can hardly wait for next Christmas now LOL

  • I have fallen in love with the Pink basket :o

Someone mentioned glitter and the ensuing mess. I was in B&Q today looking at their half price Christmas stuff and they have packs of stars with a bit of sticky stuff on the back of them which would be maybe be useful for decorating. They are down to £1.48 I think and come in different colours.
  • I really hope this thread stays because I'd like to copy some of the hampers for birthday presents thoughout the year, thanks everyone for posting, brilliant hampers.
  • OK then - here are mine... be nice :D

For my sister - a night in hamper. The popcorn bucket came from Boots (3 for 2 paid for with Pigsbacks vouchers!)

For my other sister - a pamper hamper (the coloured boxes contain homemade fudge). The foot basket came from Boots with Pigsback vouchers too!

For my Gran - it's not so easy to see as I have already put the cellophane on but it has hm soaps, bath bombs, fudge (her favourite) a sponge and flannel, a diary, a crossword book and some instant cappuccino

Hope you like them.. it's the first time I have tried this and am quite please with what I have managed to make (I am not known for my creativeness!).

    Happy Christmas.

  • :xmassign:what can I say, there all fantastic, I do something like this at birthdays except I get a pretty gift bag, and then look for all the bargains, I feels abit guilty though as I did two bags each for my SIL and bro although they got about £100 each I only paid about £30- £40 which was'nt bad but I get alot of avon stuff, only at sale price's, it has made me feel abit guilty though, as my SIL and I were in our local garden centre and they had these 2 statue's on offer £100 reduced to £50each, I said I was going to go back up there the following week when I got paid and get them for myself as a birthday treat, the next day they turned up at my house, with a note saying happy birthday and merry christmas, don't expect anything but a card for christmas ok, which I though was really nice of them, but it was £100 for them both, saving a £100 which was'nt bad but I still feel guilty, even if they are great.:xmassmile

Pls be nice to all MSer's

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker Savvy Shopper!
So how were they all received?

I did one for my Mum from the kids, nightshirt, bath bombs, magazines, tea, photos of kids, SW bars etc. She seemed pleased with it, said it was an "original" idea!

  • Reading through all this thread has given me goose bumps.. its so lovely to read how folk have put thought and energy into presents for loved ones.. anyone can buy a present with no thought.. it takes not only a nifty money saver to put together something made out of love but also a creative person.. I truly hope that 2007 brings more creative ways of passing on not only love but moneysaving ideas to your friends and family but moreover that it is reflected back to you and for you..

Guess who is off to the sales tomorrow in preperation for next Christmas? :)
