Wow what great baskets! I have done a few baskets but they don't look half as good as these0

Thanks Ambernora, some of the stuff I had in the house already to give as pressies but when I saw the idea of hampers I had to jump on the bandwagon. They are fairly easy to do once you get the idea of what you want to do. I have not attempted any men this year as we don't have many in the family but next year I might give it a bash!"Life may not always be the party you wish for, but whilst here you may aswell dance"!!!

arnie&caseysma! your hampers look fantastic. I would be chuft to bits if I got any of those.
All of you who have posted hamper pics, should be really proud of yourselves. They are all fantastic. And you have given me tonnes of inspiration for next year. Well done!I also remember the words of my friends, but I would rather have enemies than friends like youwould like to make it known that ZubeZubes avvy is a DHN, she's not dancing

arnie&caseysma! wrote:Ok folks, I am going to attempt to post the photos of my hampers!!!
First one is for MIL - she has just done out her bathroom so I got her a white ceramic bathroom set with hand pump; soap dish; toothbrush holder and cup (which I filled with cotton wool). I also broke up a nice Boots Sanctury Set with candles etc, put in a bath scrunchie and some liquer choccies! The basket I already had in the house. Total cost about £5 (reused Boots set).
SIL - The PINK basket! Total cost about £13
This one has loads of stuff in it and is all pink! It has a magic scarf, socks (one of a 2 pack of feather socks reduced in Peacocks!), gloves, an FCUK toiletry bag gift set all opened up and the tissue paper used to line over the top of the newspaper in the bottom used to raise the height a bit, pink smarties, a bath scrunchie, a candle (out of a gift set), passport holder and digi lock, hair bobble (flower). I put it all in a wicker bin (£1.99) so she can make use of it aswell!
This is the pink basket wrapped. I did them all in the same way with cellophane which I tied with silver ribbon and then wrapped them up to the ribbon with the paper, taped it all in and then applied a nice big Penting quick bow!
Friends - Wine Basket.
We are cutting down this year so I got two of the 'bottle in a glass' glasses from Poundland; two mini bottles of wine (4 for £5 in Tesco, Morrisons and Asda), two bottle stoppers (split up sets I got on Ebay), 4 wine glass charms, tealight candles, and some liquer choccies (large boxes BOGOF in Morrisons - I took 6 from the box and put into glasses). Total cost approx £5
(basket free - a friend was getting rid!).
Friend - Winter Warmer 1
Totes chemise and socks set removed from box (off eBay for a bargain price!), crime novel from a set won in a raffle, mini bottle of wine, mug, hot choc sachets and frother, tealight candles, a sparkly toiletry set (recycled gift I wasnt going to use!), liquer choccies. Total cost about £8. (basket was another I already had)
Friend - Winter Warmer 2
Magic scarf, gloves, socks (other half of Peacocks bargain!), mini wine, mug, hot chocolate and frother, drinking games, candle and tealight candles, liquer choccies, toilerty set opened up (another recycled gift!). (basket another I already had)
I am going to have to start the bargain hunting for next year as soon as this year is over! I have been careful with the re-cycled sets not to give back to the person that gave me it although none of them are getting hampers this year!
I want to thank all those that have given me inspiration this year - I'm sure I will continue every year from now on!
Sorry the pics are so big - not sure how to re-size the yet as I'm new to this photobucket thing!
Those are all fantastic.. I especially like the pink basket.. I've never seen the pink smarties before.. then again I don't get out much at the moment.
Brilliant... I'm still trying to organise mine.. did start a few months back but then ran out of money and now am struggling... not exactly spending a lot, it's just getting out and getting the bits now.
I'm doing 4 movie/night in baskets.. got some stuff, but not all of it, plus still need something to put them into. I am thinking of making large popcorn type boxes out of cardboard and covering them.. but we'll see, don't have much time to play... also doing a small winter warmer/flu set for my gran, a 'Dad's Taxi' set off the kids for their dad, a baking/cookery set for my DD, a coffee and biscuits basket for my dad and partner.. so not long left to do it all in.

Hi Yvonne! Glad you like them. The pink Smarties I got in Asda when I was last at one of their stores 3 or 4 weeks back. I think they were 2 large tubes for £2 so we got one for SIL and one for DSD for her stocking.
For the movie/night in baskets why not do something with the popcorn thingies and do something along the wine lines but also add the popcorn and some choccies aswell. If you have a large Tesco near you they have decent sized wine glasses in packs of 4 for £3.97 (smaller than the glasses I got but will still hold plenty!).
For Dad's taxi be sure to include a new tax disc holder, a chamois cloth (from pound shops), a demister for the windscreen and depending on the age of the kids one of the hanging signs for the back window.
I'm not really into cooking but have a look in pound shops and see what you can pick up - you will be amazed at some of the stuff they have that can be of reasonable quality!
For grans winter warmer why not try and take some of the items I have in mine? A magic scarf (I got mine from ebay but I know that Marie Curie shops are stocking them new for £5), socks, hot choc, new slippers, a hot water bottle or wheat bag that can be put in the micro. Anything that will keep her nice and warm during the winter months whether in or out.
Coffee and biscuits? A couple of 'matching' mugs - they can be as little as £1 each (the mugs I have in my hampers were BOGOF in Morrisons at 99p), a packet of nice coffees or cappucinos, a frother and some nice choccies and biscuits that are always on sale at this time of year. There is a thread on coffee/bath hampers and there is a detailed list of what has been put in the massive coffee hamper so you should be able to get some ideas from that or nice 'bits' to put in it.
Hope you dont mind me giving you some ideas. I hope that you get them completed in time and I am sure that the family and friends will love them no matter what size they are. I think it makes it much more special the thought and care that is put into putting the hampers together."Life may not always be the party you wish for, but whilst here you may aswell dance"!!!

these all look brilliant guys. I am so impressed. And rather inspired too. I am still in the planning stages (until exams finish).
I am making a girls night in hamper for my little sister - going to use some on the 'pink' ideas i have seen on here, and the movie theme too.
I am also going to make a hamper for the in-laws. I like the wine idea and the tea hamper idea too. I hope to do a combination.
I am also doing a 'nice things to eat' hamper for my gran. I will get them all organised and post pics eventually!!!r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
Good on you r.mac! The more pics we see the more inspiration we have for next year!!!!
Good luck and I look forward to seeing them!"Life may not always be the party you wish for, but whilst here you may aswell dance"!!!

I really must get down to Wilko's to get a basket for mine!! Went into Tesco and they only had a set of two for £7!
i'm still gathering bits for the one for my OH. i'm going to line it with a cheap towelling dressing gown (as he doesn't have one at my house!) and then I've got various bits to put on top.0 -
This thread has given me so much inspiration for christmas next year. Thank you to all who have shown their finished hampers.0
