What beautiful hampers...well done!
I have used tulle to wrap awkward presents - can buy it in Christmas colours and/or mix and match red, green, gold etc , it's very pretty and looking at EBay just £6.99 for 25m.

I'm tempted now to pretty up my presents! The smallest deed is greater than the grandest intention ~ Anonymous0 -
I got some clear cellophane in hobbycraft. It is a 20m roll for £3.70ish.
They also had coloured or patterned but that was more expensive.
They also do the pull ribbon bows that you can tie them up with.
I ave 3 hampers on the go with 2 nearly finished so will post the pics as soon as they are done.
I have made 2 retro sweet boxes & have just posted the pics on the retro sweet hamper thead. They are really good if I may say so myself.
This site has given me some great ideas for pressies this year, things I would never have thought of doing. So thanks to you all for your great ideas.0 -
Thought I'd post pics of these 2 finished hampers for you all to see.
The first is for my father in law.
I've done it in a tool box so that he can use it after. The jar of Marmite & the picture are because he has always called my little one My mate Marmite. So we have made a new label for the jar with a picture of my 4 yr old superimposed on it. Again the framed picture was done the same.
It has lots of things that he likes-
Guinness-wine-chocolate-humbugs & allsorts.
We have put racing grannies in for a laugh, a dvd of the year of his birth & a Purple Ronnie book about dads.
The second is for my ex mother in law requested by my ex husband.
It has-
Jelly fruits-bubble bath-soap-candles-sponge- Thorntons 2 for 2 xmas chocs-
ferrero rocher chocs-wine-bed socks-notelets & a musical xmas card.
I put a little chrismas flower spray on the front of the basket to make it more christmassy.
Thanks again for all your ideas, thase would never have been made without this thread.
Don't think I'll ever wrap up a pressent in boring old christmas paper again.0 -

Wow, Caitlinsnana they look fab!!
Can you give us any tips on wrapping? I've got the cellophane but I seem to be making a real hash of wrapping them up. What size cellophane did you use?
xxWhat the Deuce?0 -
Hi Pink
Thanks.
Bear with me & I'll do my best to try to explain how I did it.
I got this cellophane from my local florist. I would say it's about 2 1/2' wide. I sat the basket on top of the cellophane widthwise & pulled out enough to come about 18" above the highest item in the hamper.
Pulled it up the other side & cut it to match the height of the cellophane the first side.
I held both cut enges together and gathered/pleated it just abovr the highest item.
Then I twisted it & put some tape arond the twist to hold it together whilst I got the bow ready to tie on.
The bow is one of those from the florist. It's a long flat ribbon that has a pull inside that turns it into a bow complete with ties. I wrapped the ties over the tape & wound them around a couple fo time before tying in a knot.
I then curled the ties with scissors and cut them to length.
The sides of the cellophane will still be sticking out, I solved this by folding them as you would at the end of wrapping up a box & secured it with tape.
The cellophane above the bow at this stage will be quite squashed together. So I fanned it out whils pulling it up to get any 'bag' out of the cellophane below the bow.
Hey Presto a wrapped hamper!!!
Hope you can follow this. It would be so easy to show you. It only takes 10 mins.0
