Thanks guys, you're all making me much more confident again.
Where can I get one of these N1 forms?0 -
Hi there
I am new to this forum, however having read through this site I have started the ball rolling with FD. I wonder if anyone can give me some advice please?
I have two accounts with FD. I have received statements for one of them and sent a prelim letter which includes a schedule of charges totalling £4100! I am awaiting statements for another account but know that the charges will be at least £1500.
Should I treat them as two separate claims or should I just claim for the above to ensure it does not go over £5k.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!0 -
Hi Nat
If they are 2 separate accounts, you should really make 2 separate claims.
That has the benefits of keeping them in small claims.0 -
I WON...I DID IT, i TOOK THEM TO COURT AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD DEFEND AND BACKED DOWN THE SAME DAY, IN TOTAL I HAVE GOT £7189.00, SO KEEP AT THEM, WE CAN DO IT AND IT IS SOOOO WORTH IT IN THE END.0

Hi
I am about to file a claim against the RBS for bank charges that amount to £4619.00 with court fees and interest added, the claim rises to £6296.55 does the addition of the interest take this claim out of the small claims procedure or is the interest not taken in to account.
someone please help with constructive advice as i do not want to end up paying the RBS court costs if i happen to be the only one who doesn't win his case.0 -

That sounds like quite a lot of interest.
Yes, it is included, as is the fee. You can apply to have the case heard in the small claims court even over £5k, but it's more complex. My policies are based not on some economics theory, but on things I and millions like me were brought up with: an honest day's work for an honest day's pay; live within your means; put by a nest egg for a rainy day; pay your bills on time; support the police - Margaret Thatcher.0 -
The interest that amounts to £1427.55 is the interest you are allowed to claim at the rate of 8% if the case goes to court, it is this interest that i am unsure about, does this interest take my claim out of the small claims court. i am wondering if i should just make a claim for the bank charges £4619.00 and not bother with the 8% interest allowed under sec 69 of the county court acts.0

Hi,
My claim is for more than £5k, but is less than £15k, I am a way off yet, but how do I go about going to court if I need to?

Hi,
We're trying to claim back from two accounts at the moment. Barclays is £1440 and Nationwide is almost £7k.
I couldn't see any success stories for people who have claimed and received a large sum of money (near to our 7k amount) - does anyone think we have a chance of receiving that much back?
I'm sending letters from the templates on this site. The second letter was sent about 2 weeks ago so I'm preparing the 3rd. I have however had a letter back from Barclays stating they take complaints seriously and will get back to me soon. That was within a week of sending the second letter so I hope we have another response soon.
We could really do with this money!
Thanks.0
