just had a long chat with dh--its hard to understand a woman when your a man!!--she works long days and everyone wants a piece of her.-i do my best and she understands that but our daughter who is well behaved does little to help her poor mum!--my daughter told me last night it was all my fault mum was unhappy because i dont help! but i have it from the horses mouth!!!
Our business partner could do more to help in my view--she sits about playing computer games during the day and doesnt really do her bit!- i often think people like that are better not being partners with and having a smaller business of our own but my wife needs the partner to share some of the load!
My wife has told me that there is a house for sale in a place close to our summer rental that sounds ideal--i hate paying rent and not being able to improve--its new 3 bedrooms and on at a price we can afford--its the wrong time economically but sometimes you have to bite the bullet.

Morning everyone- hugs and thoughts to all who need them.
Yesterday was a lurking day- I never got out of my PJs -I was caught up transferring all my files (approx 80Gb worth) onto the portable HD in preparation for my new computer, which I'm hoping to get in the next fortnight or so. Not before time - this machine is beginning to pack up (after years of hammer and abuse from yours truly)
Today is gorgeous -bright sunshine and acres of pale blue sky,and I must get out soon, as I have a list of stuff to do before DH get back tonight and we make the most of Mr T's £10 meal deal.

    Afternoon all

Julie67 - I don't know how up to date you are with the thread but I've been eating more healthily since June 2009 - I was very overweight, depressed, bloated, fed up .... don't think I need to go on, I'm sure you get the picture. I had my lightbulb moment in May/June that year, and just knew I needed to do something about my weight. I've not followed any of the well known diets, just eating sensibly, and replaced junk with better options. Have only now started to exercise to help the weight loss. I'm not going to say it's easy as I know it's not (I've always had a weight problem) I've done all the diet regimes etc and always finished up putting it all back on once you stop the diet and then always a bit more too. You have to want it so much and your head needs to be in the right place, always my first thought now is "I know I don't want to be fat anymore". I really feel that way too. Don't try and do too much all at once, look at your diet and see if there's anything obvious that may help, could you eat your main meal at lunchtime and then have something lighter in the evening? - for some people this can be enough to help them lose weight. There's lots of options, I'm always logging on at least once a day or every other day so message me if you need to. Good luck, you will be able to do it once your time is right and you want it more than anything else x

Was grey and overcast and chilly this morning, but now sun has broken through the clouds and it's glorious but still on the chilly side, nice to see the sun though. DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock. Gas engineer been and serviced the boiler, other plumber coming sometime this afternoon to sort out the plumbing under the kitchen sink, yah - hopefully no more floods!

Been to the scales, stayed the same again, but think it could be my alcohol consumption that is to blame! No, I'm not an alcoholic but I do like a glass of wine or two, am going to keep a tight rein on that over the next couple of weeks and see if it makes any difference. I'm not going to stop drinking, as that's not a realistic target, I don't smoke, I don't eat junk, so a glass of vino is my guilty pleasure!

Hoping to be back to running on Monday, but will be taking it steady. Have done food shop this morning, need to crack on and do some baking etc.

Keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those in need.

    Have a good weekend.

Am about to add up all our debts and see how long it will take to pay all off.:eek:I want to get them paid asap as I want to be able to leave work in next couple of years. I am going to have to leave at some point in the future anyway as DS will get to old for childminder and then what do i do with him:o.....he is already unhappy at childminder at times as he is with babies and toddlers a lot of the time. Plus the NHS is a horrible place to work these days.

why do i feel inexplicably drawn to buying a home when the logic is telling me to sit on my hands and have the security of some savings in the bank??!!
The house my wife has found out about comes via an old friend of her mother's--he is a major property developer and is offering about 30pc discount on what was already a good price. he built the block of houses and lives in one of them so would love to have an old friend own one of them. i am so drawn but there is this nagging doubt that ı am spreadıng myself too thın by anililating my savıngs and borrowing some additional from my parents-i am not stretched but it leaves me no rainy day money!--it will be only a holiday home but a real necessity with the heat in the city during the summer.-currently we rent a holiday house which is very basic and i will never want to improve and the landlord has no inclination

Butterfly Brain- I am glad it wasn't only me walking around in the 80's in dungarees:D

nmlc I had a real light bulb moment last night. I had family here for tea and all I could think of was pulling my jeans up and my top down so that I didn't look so fat, I totally couldn't relax and I know this has got to change. I just can't carry on this way.
The low GI way of eating looks good so am going to do that, have picked up a copy of Rick Gallop the GI Diet and the Collind Gem that JulieGeorgiana recommended and just going to up my exercise as well, I mainly walk as I find running difficult.
Going to have a good read of both and make a meal plan based around low GI. Thanks so much for your advice. I know I can do it:T

Well have a chicken roasting in the oven (Mr T 3 for £10 offer) and have cancelled a meal out tomorrow night. We can't really afford it and I want to be clear on the new way of eating. Going to spend the wk end pottering and hopefully we can get in the garden. Very OS.
It's my mums birthday today so just had a chat, I gave her, her pressies last night.

    Off to read my book:T
