Bad sellers get bad reputations lose paypal claims and are seen by everyone as bad sellers, so within no time, no buyer will touch them - good or bad!
In contrast, bad buyers like this can just go on being bad buyers, maintaining 100% feedback - not fair is it?
If that's what you saw in the link provided, I'll just accept your version of the best must differ to mine.
At the end of the day, you can do what the buyers did, when ebay was riddled with sellers who didn't perform. Leave, and see if ebay change the rules to increase seller protection to bring you back.0 -

Yeah, that's a good solution, put your business on hold unti Ebay changes its position.
Or back in the real world, use forums like this to try and make your point, and maybe join a Facebook campaign where like-minded sellers can air their views0 -

Perhaps it is a reflection of how people feel? But then judging by the responses on this thread, you won't listen to anything other than your own voices. Good luck, I shall not be drawn in.0

Why comment then?
However, this is meant to be a subject for discussion, whether people agree or disagree. I believe that is what forums are for.
Your contribution so far has been really helpful...0 -

As many as that? 60 like-minded people is a good start
I do agree with the sentiment that even if we times that number by 10 or 100 it still probably wouldn't have any impact on Ebay; but that doesn't mean we can't try. At the very least we can share our views with other sellers, whether they agree or not.
I don't think we need to descend into a slanging match, everyone has the right to an opinion. However I don't really see the point of coming into the thread just to shoot people down without contributing in any meaningful way.
Taking aside the "facebook campaign won't work" brigade (which I'm not denying have a valid point), why would enhanced seller protection be a bad move? Should sellers just have to "take it on the chin" as it's a small price to pay for access to such a large market? Is allowing to filter potential buyers such a bad thing?
