Absolutely, they can claim that someone else signed. To be honest this is quite rare, and you get less INR claims if you send recorded rather than standard.
On what do you base your assumption that using recorded means less INRs? It is only standard post and travels with normal post anyway.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. On the EXPERIENCE that I've never had an INR on a recorded item, although I know people that have.
Recorded isn't tracked I know, but it proves that the item was delivered (although who to is another question).0 -

A signature is only required on items of £150 or over.
Under £150 no signature is required.
Could you clarify a bit further? The service is called "Recorded Signed For", and I haven't seen anything relating to a £150 limit. Could you give me the link to this on the RM website please?0 -

I have had an INR on a recorded item and RM refused to pay out as the post code was apparently incorrect even though it was a major university library that I sold a book to.
I no longer use recorded for any of my items, and send approx 120 a month 2nd class and have had 3 losses in the past year. If I had used recorded on all my packages it would have cost me well over £1000. Id rather have that money in my pocket rather than imagine i see scamming buyers at every turn.
Still each to their own and in the spirit of competition I urge all my competitors to use recorded, as being 74p dearer than me does my sales a lot of good as I can just keep undercutting you.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. The £150 limit is for paypal. On paypal to win an INR claim as a seller you need to show item tracks to delivery, but if item is over £150 then a signature online is also required.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Haha!
I only use Recorded on items that are over the compensation rate for RM, as an added bit of security. If items are over £100 they go courier.
My original point was that Recorded wasn't infallible but can reduce INRs, and I've seen nothing that disproves that.0 -

Which has what to do with Recorded? I was saying that you get a signature with this service, not explaining Paypal/Ebay's seller protection policies.0 -

Recorded though is only standard mail, so whether you send your item recorded or not it still only has cover against loss or damage of up to 41p.
I would clarify that any of my items over £41 would go special delivery purely to cover me against loss en route.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I was quoting from your post number 73 where you were querying what chancesare meant by a £150 limit. That in turn was in response to your statement that a buyer could win a claim for iNR even if item was received if buyer says it was signed by someone else. The fact is they WOULD NOT win the case as the signature is immaterial if item was under £150..I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
