Seriously?! You were on JSA, you finally found a job, sure the conditions might be awful and not above board but your getting £ to work, think of it as the career ladder, your at rung number 1 at the moment, low pay, poor conditions, I would start contacting recruitment companies to say you would be willing to do reception work and let the recruiter (not your new employer) know of the poor conditions, say your happy to accept £x per hour.
I bet its a damn site better than those working in Indonesia and getting paid a whole lot more too!
Took so long to post my reply I didn't see your last post until I hit save.
If you have taken holiday which is over than your allowance for the time period they can ask for you to work that off, whether or not they'll chase you for it is a different story - its a lot of head ache for not a lot of gain.
Go find a job with better conditions!0 -

Enough is enough... then when I try and speak my piece over the phone to them, get told I should have booked an appointment to discuss it.... I was on holiday.

Unless you popped over to the Seychelles for a week, there was no reason why you couldn't have made an appointment to discuss this in your own time, rather than expecting to do it in office hours when there's work to do and there are patients waiting.
I'm afraid that this comment has taken the remaining ounce of sympathy I might have had for you. You are obviously unsuited to working in a responsible area like health or education and would be much better in a kitchen with your son.0 -
That was rather a rude comment.
I too worked at a place like that, but I 'bit' back after 2 days, so they asked me to go, I was so glad, I saw the person I started with and she looked awful 2 months after staying there and wished she could have been 'asked to leave'.
Seems there are some bad employers out there, so there is no need to 'knock' the person who it seems is being attacked by bullies in the workplace.0
