Somebody asked for an example of a holiday under £1000. Im not actually going to go there. I am also going to Butlins & the Oralndo in Nov like I do every year. I will probably also upgrade to silver when I get there but there is no way I am paying the upgrade prices now as you can usually get a better deal when you get there and speak to them in person!! :A

Actually that part of Turkey is okay in the summer as it has a famous breeze which cools and as long as people are sensible in the sun, as you would be here it wouldn't be a problem.

However, bluemonkey is right, it isn't in the school holidays.

I think that is a GREAT price. I couldn't believe how expensive it is to holiday in England in a camp when I priced up holidays a couple of years ago. It is cheaper to go abroad but you really can't compare Butlins as an average campsite as it is standard that all others try to be. The Minehead camp has everything and as bluemonkey rightly says, it is a bargain. No where else will offer the same entertainment and food package. The only other place that could be similar would be Disney and I wonder how much that would cost!
But if ever I stray from the path I follow
Take me down to the English Channel
Throw me in where the water is shallow And then drag me on back to shore!
'Cos love is free and life is cheap As long as I've got me a place to sleep
Clothes on my back and some food to eat I can't ask for anything more

Are you up north Debbie? I think the Scots and the North do have different holidays to the rest of us!

sorry to go off topic, but do butlins have a good food selection for coeliacs? This is the first year i'm going to have to go on holiday in britain (medical issues mean I cant travel far so airports and flights are a complete nono) so am looking for somewhere with lots for kids to do and cater well for my 9 yr old. Was thinking about butlins or haven. (again sorry for the thread detour!

Not sure exactly what a coelic diet cnsists of but in general there's loads of choice at the food court and its self serve so you can pick and choose what you want or you could go self catering and take your own food. I've been to Haven too but much prefer Butlins, more to do and more importantly more free stuff to do. When you check in they normally give you a leaflet with all the free kids stuff on it. The footy coach at Bognor was brilliant with the kids. There is also stuff that isn't free like go-carts, climbing wall, high ropes, amusements and those rides for little kids that you put a £1 in but my kids save up and take a bit of spending money with them so if they want to do anything like that comes out of their spending money.

Nowhere in the UK can guarantee you the weather or the water to be warm in an outdoor pool but your other two requirements are easily met by stopping in one of the two Butlins hotels at Bognor Regis(one with spa) and eating in the hotel.

Butlins isn't like it used to be. It's not all wooden chalets with basic amenities. There's various options to suit your pocket. If you don't believe me have a look here :D

That bedroom is OK, but its no better than home

    I'm after this:D

But I know their is a massive price difference.

I also realise its horses for courses & some people love Butlins.

Whats shocked me is the price:eek:
    I thought they were cheap:o:eek:

Grrr at the Butlins haters!! Yes I admit, it was not like a holiday for me and Matt, but to our daughter is was amazing. We were exhausted when we got home, but it's worth it to see our daughter's face light up when she saw barney and thomas. Also unlimited rides and swimming and the soft play area was brilliant.

For those of you who would rather go abroad and lay on a sun lounger while your kids play in the pool or on the beach or stick them in a kids club, go ahead. Like I said before we also go abroad, but we go to Butlins as a treat for our daughter, not us (well actually we have fun too playing with her and watching her).

I know the resort is chavtastic :pbut the area is known for the breeze. Its not like other parts of Turkey where you can't leave the room as its too hot in the summer. They have snow in winter and seasons similar to the UK and the weather doesn't get warm until May time.

I love that area (Cesme) because you don't need AC because of that lovely breeze!

LOL. I'll be honest, you're not gonna get a room with a jacuzzi at Butlins :p
