Got a Butlins Bargain!!

We have booked Butlins Minehead for a week in the summer holidays, Silver accomodation, 4 people, plus have upgraded to Premier Dining option for just over £1000 total - with £40 Quidco cashback takes it under £1000. Apparently it's a £500 saving on brochure price. We usually use our CC vouchers but was not worth it now they are only worth 3x.

You can get it much cheaper (£700 including food) if you want to stay in standard accomodation.

I know it is not SUPER cheap like Sun Holidays but it is good value for the summer hols with breakfast and dinner included, for 4 people for a week - especially if you have teens you cannot take out of school as there is loads for them to do.

Play around with dates. You can get a Sat-Sat date like we have but there is £100 surcharge but those dates are sometimes much cheaper than Mon or Fri start date. It is weird, you cannot choose it on the main page but choose any date and then choose it from the drop down box on the following page. Maybe this is why it is cheaper, that people do not know you can book.

Hope someone else finds this useful.

£1000? My god, never would I spend that much on a trip to butlins! A quarter of that is still too expensive, I could get cheap flights to Spain and hire a car and villa in Spain for 10 days for that.

Each to their own, have a fab time.

    Not everyone likes flying !

Try booking a Haven caravan over the summer period, I was quoted just under £800 for the week I wanted during Summer Hols, food not included.

Not sure how the above post is helpful, it isn't even comparable. You appear to have missed the fact that the £1000 includes food and some entertainment. Never mind the fact if they didn't have passports that could be another £300. I wouldn't mind a holiday for 4, 10 days in Spain, good quality accomodation with food and entertainment, all in the summer holidays!!!
  • blue_monkey,sounds like you got a good deal! We usually go there, too but we usually go for the celebrity weekend which inflates the price a lot (usually around £700 for the three of us in silver, half board) The first time we went i was really ill but still managed to have a fab time and DD loves it!

you should be ashamed of yourselves.

we all like a bargain, but to blatantly smuggle someone into a holiday park knowing that they are going to enjoy the entertainment free, disgusts me.

i hope butlins read this and ask you to pay for that person

My family also went during half term. We visited on the 18th and came back on the 21st. We were a family of 6, silver accommodation and premium dining all for under £150 :j

Can't say it was the best holiday but it certainly wan't the worst. Only critism is that I also waited in a queue to watch Stavros and Flatly for ages and ages only to not get a seat. We were not impressed and just left and went back for the 9pm show :) Oh and I hated the toast they had for breakfast....deep fried in cheap oil, disgusting! Everything the kids wanted to do were over booked which left the poor things a bit bored during the day too. Many of the activities and rides are for very young children.

Would never pay £1000 for butlins op not worth that much in my opinion. But still have lots of fun :)

...forgot to mention why we got it so cheap. Family of four were part of a big party so payed very little and it was just me and my dad who had to pay extra. I payed £35 and for my dad £90
