Oh and I hated the toast they had for breakfast....deep fried in cheap oil, disgusting!0

Is £1000 for a weeks half board holiday at Butlins considered a bargain? How much is it ususally then?
I think that is really expensive and would rather pay £1000 for stay abroad half board for a week.
And before anyone moans, Yes I've stayed at Butlins in the past, and Haven too!
i think youd be hard pressed to find a week abroad in the school hols for under £1k SC, let alone HB. all quotes ive had this year have been £2k plus for SC, and more like £3k if you want HB or AI
Tbh the £1k quoted by the OP, is the standard Butlins price. i know they have a 'brochure price' that you have presumably got a discount on, but no-one ever pays full price

we`re going back (20th year in a row!!!) in the october half term. silver self catering for £300 for 4 nights......2 adults and 2 kids. it makes an excellent autumn break and the kids (teens!) just love it.

I think that must have been the fried bread. Whenever I've gone to Butlins the toasting machine is opposite where you get the rest of the food. You can put white or brown bread in it and there are packets of butter there so you can butter it yourself.
Haha:rotfl: yep that's what I meant. That was some nasty fried bread though! I made toast instead...much better:p0 -
Are you mad?! You can go abroad for cheaper than that!0

It is weird, you cannot choose it on the main page but choose any date and then choose it from the drop down box on the following page. Maybe this is why it is cheaper, that people do not know you can book.
Hope someone else finds this useful.
have tried every date in august and none are coming up anywhere near the prices you have quoted, SC let alone with food included
you must have got the only bargain

Not everyone wants to go abroad though.
To be honest it's not my ideal holiday but the kids absolutely love it. So much for them to do and alot of it is free. Sports activities for the sporty, crafts activities for the not so sporty. Fairground rides, trampolines. Beach nearby. Indoor swimming centre and amusments for when the weathers not good. Evening entertainment for the kids and cos it's in the UK the temperature is usually managable for the tinies. And the accomodation choice these days is great.0 -
£1000? My god, never would I spend that much on a trip to butlins! A quarter of that is still too expensive, I could get cheap flights to Spain and hire a car and villa in Spain for 10 days for that.
Each to their own, have a fab time.
LOL, summer holidays at Butlins. I have to confess this is the first time we have paid cash but we easily spend £60 a day on food while we are there as it's my holiday, why should I cook when everyone else is having 'time off'??
This trip is for the KIDS, we are not people who like sitting around all day doing now't by the pool in Spain. and a villa? Think of the mess they would make and that would mean I'd be cleaning. Going Silver means you have a maid come in!!Oh, and I NEVER unpack - what a waste of time and then you have to pack too. My friends think i am crackers.
Free swimming with rides and flumes, all food incuded, free night entertainment, clubs for the kids during the day, entertainment during the day (the freaky magic show was fab last year!!) and a gorgeous beach on the doorstep. Cornwall is an hour or so drive. And if it is raining there is always something to do that is inside. For £1k in the summer holidays. Bargain to me
Sure Butlins is not for everyone but my kids will be kids for just a few years so if this is where they want to go, we will take them.0 -
