Oh thats fab news about toby carvery, wished I had asked about it earlier, I just assumed they would use all sorts of fattening goodies mixed in the veg etc.
So is the stuffing syn free? As I know stuffing from the shops you have to syn, and what about the roasties, I thought these would have to be synned???

    Thanks xx

oh forgot about the stuffing.....I dont eat it but yes that would be synned too as per normal stuffing

    Evening all

Yes, Toby Carvery can be a tad confusing. I would definately syn the roasties (I had two small ones today and counted 4 syns?). I also add some syns on for gravy, yorkshire, cauli cheese etc. Checked on syns on-line and they have hardly any info on there for Toby:(

    Jolly lovely though, it was!:D

In that case Miss P, what would you say is free, the meat obviously... Not the steak pie lol, nor the pots, gravy, c,cheese... snips, stuffing, YP...

So peas, carrots, brocoli, do they have other veg as well as this?

Whoa, don't get carried away, the roasties will have loads of syns. The stuffing, Yorkies and gravy will have to be synned and I am always careful to take my boiled potatoes and other veggies from the top of the pile rather than the bottom just in case they do add butter.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

thats as I thought consultant, Id say most of what are the best things are Toby have to be ladened! Might as well make myself a nice SW roast where Ill have the meat left over for later in the week.:money: I can make a lovely HM roast for a couple of syns for gravy and a ( if I bother) midweek mini 1 syn yorkie, and save eat many potatoes and snips as I like! :p Sometimes tho it is nice not to do the washing up!

As an aside, can anyone tell me what syns flour is. If I were to make my own yorkie for example....I cant find i in the directory.

found this on minimins ..... sounds like it might be ok?? ( and cheap!!):money:

    3 tin soup
    blend together the folllowing

    1 x tin tomatoes
    1 x tin baked beans
    1 x tin carrots (drained)
    1 x large pickled onion !!!

place in a pan and add some chicken stock and heat up.

This is lovely and tastes like hienz tomato soup.redface.giftongue.gifsmile.gif

Its already on our recipe thread m'dear! :p except I left out the tin of carrots and used 2 tins of tomatoes, but in my opinion this only improves it ;)
Nothing tastes as good as riding a horse feels

Lynzpower - yes, HM roast MUCH more SW friendly!:) At the toby I do tend to fill my plate with lots of cabbage etc so keeping the syns a bit lower.

Funnily enough, I think a Harvester is a much better option for slimmers (but OH is a Toby freak;))

    Miss P
