I have noticed this weird need to "always have food in" - I'm most uncomfortable today because I don't have much in. I think that combined with an attitude of eating it all at once must be relevant to something in my past, but I don't remember ever going hungry. I'm quite spiritual and believe in past lives, so I think its a strong possibility that I went very hungry in a past life (self confessed tree hugger here
).
I have this too! but in a different way. My mum has loads of food in ( i mean loads) always has. A lot of hers gets wasted.I was a bit like it too altho have calmed down a bit. being a good wife/mother/freind is dependent in my family on making sure everyone has what they need or even want or even- dont want!
handed down from generation to generation. my mum and dad did sw for a bit, but coudnt cope with the meal planning and only eating what is there. needless to say they are both obese and mum has diabetes. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Just read everyone else's posts and wanted to say how supportive and understanding you all are!
This really is a lovely place to be - thanks to everyone. xxxxx0 -
I so want this time to be different, but I have to acknowledge that I may always have a problem around food. I have made a decision to be in control and I will do the best I possibly can to carry on feeling good about myself, and if reminding myself how good that really is does the trick - wonderful
:T brilliant, thats exactly it i think! Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

found this on minimins ..... sounds like it might be ok?? ( and cheap!!):money:
3 tin soup
blend together the folllowing
1 x tin tomatoes
1 x tin baked beans
1 x tin carrots (drained)
1 x large pickled onion !!!
place in a pan and add some chicken stock and heat up.
This is lovely and tastes like hienz tomato soup.
the one I use is 2 tins of tomatoes, one of carrots, one of baked beans and either 1 large or 2/3 smaller pickled onions, no need for stock or any kind of condiment as it's already in the beans. Blend, it's lovely. (I personally did not enjoy the dyno rod soup but I do like the pickled onion soup!) Sorry if someone's already mentioned this.:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

dear all, I've just read the past 20 or so posts and it's lovely how frank and supportive you all are. I do SO agree that one should eat food that one enjoys (obviously not living on chocolate or beer or ice cream) or perhaps we should think of it as "we don't eat food we don't like". There's no point in eating things you don't enjoy because you simply won't feel satisfied even if you are full. I personally like my food to have a lot of taste, now helped along by (as well as spices or herbs where appropriate) mushroom ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, Aromat, various ready-made stocks (cubes or powder), Marmite. They all (not all together!) add flavour when you are "frying" onions or steaming vegetables. Also, I love my Butterbuds. I keep a few sachets in my bag then if I eat out I can have plain vegetables and sprinkle some Butterbuds over (quarter syn for one sachet, and half a sachet is more than enough to give a buttery taste to one person's meal). Another thing I carry around now is a little tupperware pot of dried skimmed milk powder, so when I go to a coffee shop I just ask for a black americano and then stir in my dried skimmed milk powder; most of the shops round here only have semi skimmed.
anyway chin up Skint, you will get there! And big grateful friendly girly hugs to all of you! x:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

AGH!!! Damn *week and all I've done all evening is shovel food in my face  Had huge cup of coffee (with sugar!) 9  jaffa cakes and 3 mini cupcakes that my dd made earlier.
Plus it's my makeover tomorrow and my chin has erupted with loads of nasty spots  Damn damn damn!! It's bloody typical!
Right I'm off to bed before I demolish the contents of the fridge!!!!!
Tomorrow will be a healthy day and hopefully my chin will have calmed down a bit by then!!

 I use the sell by and the sniff (which you can't because of your cold) test for cottage cheese, yogurt and fromage frais and I haven't poisoned us yet! Would like your sauce au poivre recipe please. Is that for steak?
Hi, Thanks for that. We ate it and nobody died, so that's good. I use the sauce for steak and chicken. It's not bad for a "diet sauce".
serves 4.
1 chopped onion. 2 crushed garlic cloves, 11 floz chicken stock ( I use the Knorr liquid one) 1 tbsp crushed black peppercorns, 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce, 7 oz fat free fromage frais, salt and freshly ground black pepper.
put onion, garlic and chicken stock in a pan and bring to the boil, reduce heat, add peppercorns and worcestershire sauce and simmer for 15-20 mins or until reduced and slightly thickened. Remove from heat, stir in f.frais and season with salt and pepper. keep sauce warm, but do not boil. I don't know where I got the receipe from. I add a little bit of granulated sweetener to mine to take away the sharpness.0 -

Exacty the same here lynz, but it's a tradition I'm breaking. I meal plan so I know that DH and I will have a good meal. For the 'if anyone calls' syndrome I have got biscuits but just stuff that DH likes. And anyway Asda is only a few minutes away if 'm desperate...minimad1970 wrote: » I use the sell by and the sniff (which you can't because of your cold) test for cottage cheese, yogurt and fromage frais and I haven't poisoned us yet! Thanks for that minimad, I'll definitely give it a try . As for the sweetener, I snaffle a few sachets any time I'm in a coffee shop (although never put it in my coffee). It really comes in handy for the odd recipe.0
