I'd love to know your favourite low-syn treats - sweet or savoury snacky stuff that doesn't involve low fat natural yogurt and ideally with portion control already included, while I try to get my self-control back!
Thanks!
Scotrae
I like syn free houmus - a drained can of chickpeas, some garlic, and either quark/fat free fromage frais or just some vegetable stock, blend until desired consistency. Have with carrot sticks etc.
Actually... I'm a weirdo who has spent the last 2 days munching through a whole celery by itself, stick by stick! Negative calories, right?
On a different note, I looked up the amount of calories I burnt doing that bleeping whole day with the horses. Even being conservative about the amount of time spent on my feet, it was 744!! Woweee! and 5 minutes on my cross trainer burns a respectable 60 cals. Must be my *cough* weight which makes the figures high? my 30 minute brisk walk this morning earnt me 200 calories, and I am so very motivated to exercise knowing this! :T
oh, and tomorrow chaps, I am going to spend the whole day not on the internet, in an attempt to do some serious studing. I'll check in about 5pm, but if you see me posting before then, SHOUT AT ME!
ThankiesNothing tastes as good as riding a horse feels0 -

The batchelors 98% fat free ones were free last time I checked, but the normal ones are around 5-6 syns per packet. I don't think that can be just from the flavouring sachet? Never heard that before anyway, I thought it was the noodles which contain/dont contain fat?
Hmmmmm, you may be right. Which doesn't make sense! Why add fat etc to noodles?
Anyway, ingredients for low fat chicken and herb noodles -
Noodles (Wheat Flour and Salt), Water, Sugar, Salt, Wheat Flour, Flavourings (contain Celery, Soya), Flavour Enhancers (Monosodium Glutamate and Disodium 5'-ribonucleotides), Colours (Turmeric, Plain Caramel), Vegetable Oil, Black Pepper, Chive Flakes, Citric Acid, Onion Extract and Garlic Extract.
Ingredients for normal chicken noodles -
Ingredients as served (greatest first): Noodles (Water, Wheat Flour, Palm Oil (contains Antioxidants (Butylated Hydroxyanisole, Citric Acid, Propyl Gallate), Salt), Onion, Dried Glucose Syrup, Salt, Flavour Enhancers (Monosodium Glutamate, Disodium 5-ribonucleotides), Garlic, Parsley, Yeast Extract (contains Barley), Flavourings, Turmeric, Malic Acid, Vegetable Oil, Chicken Fat, Celery, Milk Powder, Wheat Flour.
So it looks like the noodles have palm oil added to them.0 -
Re the noodles, Im wondering now if a pack of normal chicken flavour super noodles are 10 syns and low fat are 0 syns, maybe so many of them syns are for the flavouring and some our for this palm oil added to the noodles, surely it can't be 10 syns for a bit of palm oil, what do you all think???
Also, what dried noodles are free then, cos this has baffled me now, and I don't know if I have used all my syns up for the day, and I want my snackajacks boohoo0 -
WI day for me today and ..............
Tarrraaaaaa-2lbs
Thats a total of 43lbs in 16 weeks  so I had better get out me new shiney as well
I wanted to loose 3 stone before I went on me holidays and I have done it - I go this afternoon so I am not expecting great things for my next WI which will be 2 weeks today. I will attempt to be good but will be working on damage limitation for most of the week
So folks - have a great SW week while I am away and I will think of you while I am sitting on me sunbed in Crete reading me kindle - I will! - honest
Bye bye folksMags - who loves shopping0 -
Well done Mags and all other losers. Sadly I stayed the same this week, so have added a little exercise into my week to hopefully kick start more weight loss.0

Well done Magnolia! Have a lovely holiday secure in the fact that you are loads thinner than last year!
A mini triumph for me yesterday - after the disasterous stir fry tea (yuk!) I marched off to the shop with the dog (at least I walked!) to get a Dime bar to console myself. Walked "briskly" all the way back (about 25 mins round trip) and promised myself that I could have it whilst watching a film later in the evening. BUT, I had a bowl of strawberries with a tablespoon of Nutella (4 syns) to dip them in instead and saved the choccie for another crisis day.:rotfl:
So today's food...(green as always)
Breakfast - banana
Lunch -2 pieces of bread (B choice) grilled with sliced tomato and a sprinkling of grated cheese (A choice)
Dinner - mexican bake from this months magazine (would recommend this, filling and free apart from the cheese (A choice) on top)
Snacks - strawberries, grapes, satsuma/orange
So far that's no syns but this WILL change I'm sure!
I will do the Shred again later too - add that to an hours slow dog walking this morning and another 30 mins or so at a brisker pace later and that'll do for exercise today.
Have a good day!0 -
Whoop whoop did my first wi this morning and i lost 5lb:j
Bit concerned this week tho as my dr has changed my meds and they really seem to be affecting my appetite and they're making me really sleepy and lethargic too. Dr said this should go away within 2weeks but i dont want to undo all my hard work esp as we're off on our jollys in 3weeks. Gonna try hard to stick to plan. Not sure how todays gonna pan out as i've had a bowl of krispies for breakfast, wasnt in the mood for my usual bran flakes so thats 5syns gone already:o£387.39/£196.46

Morning all. I have been 'absent' for a few days, and pretty much absent from SW too. Found out on Weds that my mums cancer is terminal, and she only has months rather than years left. I didn't take the news too well, and weds, thurs, fri nights, I got completely hammered. Anyway, I can't carry on like that, pushing my self destruct button, as I do not want to end up where that will take me, as I have been there before when my dad died. So the drinking stopped after friday, and I tried to eat well yesterday, but I was dreadfully hungover so I couldn't eat a lot. Today my mum and brother are coming for lunch and we will all eat healthily, SW style.
So today should look like this, EE:
B: Banana, mullerlight, rasberries
L: Roast beef, potatoes, parsnips, carrots, swede, green beans, gravy (1), yorkshire pudding (3), meringue or skinny cow lolly (3), (I could have a slice of lemon mousse pie, but it is over 300 kcal a slice, so I don't think I'll bother)Cheese (HEA) and tomatoes on toast or pitta (HEB), satsuma
So 7 syns and both HE's. I think I need to concentrate on doing this and not drinking, so I don't end up on anti-depressants again. Also as all my extra weight is round my middle, my risk of heart disease is greater. I can't risk anything happening to me, so I need to do it both for me and the kids. Put on 2lbs on thurs, but it isn't surprising, the abuse I have been putting my body through.LBM Dec 10. Total unsecured debt £41176  Nov 12 Debt Free Thanks Mum x RIP x

Rachel - I'm so sorry about your mum. It must be an extremely difficult time for you.
Dieting seems to be insignificant at times like these.
Good luck with taking control again and remember to pop on here and have a rant, cry, whatever makes you feel better - we're all behind you.
Take care sweetheart. xxxx0
