I lost 4.5lb last week, goodness knows how, it was by far my worst week but my best weight loss it WAS easter lol...go figureWhen i got back from class i got on my scales and i weighed the same as in class...I have never weighed myself at home as its a slippery slope i have fallen into before, i did it as a 1 off because i simply didnt believe the loss.
Anyway, this week class has been changed because of the bank holiday from monday to wednesday and the scales were in the bathroom...yep you guessed it i hopped on (same time as class) and i weight 4lb heavier than i did last wed.
Now i know i havent put on 4lb as i have mainly stuck to plan this week but it has been a tough week. Silly things like oh did the shop and instead of extra lean mince he got normal mince, i drink tonic water a lot at home but he didnt get slimline and i only reaslised yesterday so i have been drinking what i thought was syn free when it actually isnt for the past 5 days(the old lets blame someone else for my weight gain trick!)
So, here i am, saturday afternoon feeling quite disheartened. I dont wanna gain i'm was 0.5lb off my next 1/2 stone. I dont know why i stepped on these blooming scales gggrrr and all i can think is 'oh well, sod it - if i have gained bring on the G&Ts whilst i drown my sorrows...no doubt followed by a tipsy evening that will at some point involve stupid food choices...therefore resulting in a 'well i have blown this week' mentality that escalates (i am sure you all know the feeling ?) so i wont go to class cause i know i have gained, then i eat cause i am annoyed at my cowardly ways... then i am too scared to go ever again...
So, someone PLEASE encourage me, i dont wanna be petted lol, but i really can feel a bandwagon falling off on its way... I dont want it to happen, i wont let it, i just need some encouragement today. I keep telling myself the reason i am doing this...i dont want to be thin - i want to be healthy and choose good foods for me and my family, the weight loss was meant to be a by product but now i fell like its the be all and end all
rant over, if you have read all my drivel then a huge thanks !
*slaps wrist* that's for popping on your home scales! Even if it says 4lb on, what are the odds of that being accurate, in comparison to the SW scales.
On the wrong mince and tonic stuff, have you tried adding up the syns for it, just so you know a rough guide so you could possibly offset that damage. It's definitely not as bad as you think! Just think, if you stick to it, you can hopefully negate any gain that you think may be coming!
Please, PLEASE don't think sod it! Come to the wagon, as you know that you will feel even worse and could possibly be further away from your target! So what if it takes an extra week to get your shiny, this is a long road and you WILL get there eventually. This is one week out of your life, so don't get hung up on one little number, that might not even be accurate.
Have you tried doing a little bit of exercise as that will release those feel good hormones which will hopefully make you feel more positive and focused.

THANK YOU! Just what i needed. I am just annoyed with myself for getting on the bloody things and for not double checking ohs shopping items.
Im NOT falling off, no way! I go to SW with my MIL for motivation and i cant let her down - we purposely go to a class a good 10 mins drive away cause she cant drive and i cant not go or she cant go..sneaky eh?
You are absoluetly right. Thanks autumnflower. I am off out this evening with friends for a meal and i know i am going to make wise choices now.
I am so glad i came accross this thread a few weeks ago, i have been a MSE member a while but never ventured on here and its so supportive... without you lot i would deffo be trying to buy the kids easter eggs off them by now lol0 -
Hi BRIANS DAUGHTER - Everything you say about jumping on the scales is SO true. I am exactly the same, I know I shouldn't get on and all the reasons why I shouldn't get on (WE ALL DO!) but there's not many of us that hasn't done it. I jump on and off at least once a day (can't help it) I even got my husband to put ours on top of the wardrobe but I got the steps from the garage and got them down again.
What I'm trying to say is don't beat yourself up about it. You've done it now. I don't think for a minute that you've put that weight on, it's probably only fluid. Like someone else said stick at it, maybe cut down on syns until your next weigh in and up the exercise if possible. You'll get that next shiny soon enough (what's a week anyway). Good luck - you WILL do it. x0 -
4.5lbs loss one week and 4lb gain the next? so that's a net 0.5lb loss for one really naughty week and one on plan week? I'd say that was a good result
I did the same, thought sod it the following week and stopped going. Don't do what I did!Nothing tastes as good as riding a horse feels0 -
Hi, anyone tried the chickpea cake? Can you let me know as I feel the need for something sweet and have chickpeas in the cupboard. Also how many syns in it? Ta very much. x0

I still don't like stir fry!!!
Just made it for tea with noodles, veg and sweet and sour sauce and it was yuk, but I still ate most of it - the dog seems to like it though!
I used to hate stir fry when I was younger and thought that with age and maturity (!) it would have changed - nope! Bleuurghh!
Another disappointing tea - good job it was almost free - would have been distraught if I'd used up my syns again on something that didn't turn out to be any good.:o
I too am guilty of mid week weighing - and it never fails to convince me I'm Twiggy or Bella Emberg depending on the result - and it almost never is the same weight as I end up getting at WI. (By the way it said I'd lost 1 lb today, I'm down to just once a week sneaky weighing now - an improvement!) Why do we do it!!!!
Right am off to find something that might taste nice for dessert later to keep my spirits up!0 -
TakeItEazy hope you're feeling a bit better today hun?
tis no joke having a big poorlied face  If its still causing you grief Id be ringing the NHS line and finding out where the nearest emergency clinic is.....sounds like you really do need summat for it.....and I wouldnt wait until after the Bank Hol seeing as its been going on so long now

Thanks Dizzy, can imagine a bit of what you've been through now.
Am still in pain BUT did go to the walk in centre - after a 2 hour wait - was told to go steam myself over a bowl  what a waste of time. Have been doing that and still in pain as it hurts to bend forward and thats what I do over the bowl . Had a good check up, took temp was told it was normal [told her that], she looked in my throat and said thats a bit red [had told her that too] was waiting for her to tell me something I DIDN'T know [which she didn't].
So am still in terrible pain, hurts to eat so have had weetabix this morning and just finished a bowl of fruit, yog & meringue and thats it so far [been asleep for several hours though].
If it gets no better I will try [try being the opperative word] to get in my own Drs on Tuesday. Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

Oh I made it years ago and can highly recommend itIt doesn't taste of chickpeas, tastes like a normal cake, and the recipe for lemon curd which goes with it is well worth it too.
I served it to my housemate (only one who would try it, rest were wusses!) and her boyfriend, both of whom really liked it, and they were into posh nosh, so I took that as a great compliment! (Hey Dizzy, its that beer!)
TakeItEasy, are you anywhere near somewhere that will sell Homeopathic remedies? If so use this: http://abchomeopathy.com/c.php/10 and go buy yourself the relevant remedy. I can vouch for homeopathic remedies being VERY effective. I'd use either the dose 12c or 30c, (or 6c) as it is a recent problem. Don't be tempted to go for a bigger number, they are more for chronic conditions and won't be as effective. Honestly.
If you can't get hold of that, would olbas oil, tea tree, peppermint oil etc work do you think? Could always hold them on a tissue under your nose.
Had a google for you. This one looks to have stuff in it you might already have at home:

Hello, I'm back from my holidays and hoping that the damage limitation worked! I ate really healthily but did indulge in rather too much wine. Hey ho, it was tempered with lots of playing on the beach and walking, so I'm hoping that it won't be too bad when I weigh tomorrow.
Today was meant to be green but I think has ended up as EE and I've only had 1 HEB and have got 1 HEA saved for later.
Today I had:
2 boiled eggs and a slice of wm toast (HEB)
2 oranges
jacket potato with v low fat cottage cheese and a salad of lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, beetroot and pickled onions
sweet potato and mixed bean curry with boiled rice, 3 poppadoms (6 syns) 1 tablespoon mango chutney (3?)
So that's 9 syns if I'm correct with the mango chutney, and I'm going to have 3 babybel lights with an apple when I'm watching Casualty later!
Hope you're all enjoying the long weekend.Say what you mean.. mean what you say... without being mean.0
