Vauxhall lifetime guarantee scam

Vauxhall said that if we replaced the alternator on the Zafiras with an uprated one then we would invalidate the warranty, so we have the situation where the Zafiras need an alternator every year minimum, some have had 2 per year!
But as using a vehicle for emergency use also voids the warranty I don't know if they actually honour the standard warranty even though they are serviced three times as often as the normal schedule, it may be done on a fail by fail basis, if the failure is atributed to emergency use then it may not be covered probably, however my fitters have started to use a Saab dealer recently (the one on The Highway near Tower Bridge) as Vauxhall dealers have proved rubbish for the more complicated issues concerned the CDTi engine and the DPF.
This may indicate that any warranty is only as good as the dealer you go to.
The fitters now keep alternators on the shelf as a standard service part.0 -

I don't know whether eta still offer this to new customers, as they have removed it from their website, but they are definitely still offering renewals.
Exclusions 2, 3, 4 and 5 cover consequential losses.
Two hundred and fifty pounds for two years isn't at all bad, why didn't you buy that one, instead of paying six hundred and fifty pounds? The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -

Here we go again!
If you are having to replace alternators on every Zafira in LAS's fleet, why haven't Vauxhall had to replace every single alternator on very single Zafira ever sold? The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -

Exclusion 2 just says: things that aren't covered aren't covered
Exclusion 3 says: the cost of investigations done before authorisation is not covered
Exclusion 4 says: routine servicing isn't covered

Well although my £659 2-year vauxhall extended warranty has 20 months left to run, it has just paid out £593 for:
-failed aircon condensor (inlcuding re-gas)
-broken coil springs (1 failed but both replaced as good engineering practice)
-track rod endWe need the earth for food, water, and shelter.

Did the warranty pay for both?
Sounds good if it did - AutoProtect (scum...) wouldn't even pay for two identical failed parts on my car.0 -
Did the warranty pay for both?
Yes it did. They wanted to insist on Vauxhall parts but the Vauxhall dealer couldn't get them inside a few days, so they eventually agreed to pay for the non-genuine parts.
I have no complaints about the claim process of Vauxhall Extended Warranty (run by Car Care Plan) so far.We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.

I paid for a 2 yr warranty when I bought my Ford Galaxy about 10 years ago. Just 3 months later the gear box exploded ripping through the clutch and starter motor. After the assessor saw it I received all parts replaced free of charge. It saved me a lot.
thenudeone I am pleased that someone else has had good care from a waranty firm. Thanks for the idea but I have had a look and found Mitsubishi don't cover my vehicle.:(business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527
