If you cancel before March, do you lose your accrued cashback?

Yes, you'll forfeit your cashback if you cancel.
Doesn't sound like a smart move to me.
Keep the card and if you ahte Barclays then simply don't spend on it, how much of a harship is that?

Not sure on that one, with that my cashback is nil anyway, I just used it for a 0% balance transfer.

Just logged in to egg today and been asked to confirm details of my newly issued card (not received yet) even though my current card still has 2 months left to run; so it looks like the re-issue process has started.

I had both my Egg Money and Egg Card come up for their normal renewal this month - and was issued Egg branded cards.

The letter with the Egg Money one did mention 'from 29 April.. transferred to Barclays' but looks as if the Egg is going to be issuing them/servicing the cards for a while..

    Regards

Ok Sorry, it must be me. They are after me.

I left Barclaycard when they started sending insecure balance reminders.

Guess what? I went to Morgan Stanley - who were then bought by Barclaycard.

So I left and went to Egg!

Looks like I'll be leaving Barclaycard for a third time! I certainly won't be stopping.

BTW. Egg do automatic full balance payment by direct debit. Is this common? I would like to find another card that offers the same.

All the credit cards I've ever had have had the option to pay off in full by DD each month. Only way to use credit cards imho.

Does anyone know if the Egg Card / Quidco links will go once Barclaycard take over?

I think its business as usual for the minute.......but.......expect all egg benefits to be slowly watered down and removed once barclaycard fully take charge. I intend to keep using eggcard until then to get 1%cashback whilst at sametime using my new halifax clarityreward card to get the £5 a month cashback- and once barclaycard fiddles with the cashback and removes it I will cancel egg card and use Halifax card but probaly then use my Amex Red card and let the money go to charity
  • I'm a little behind the times here and just got up to speed with this buy out after receiving an email from Barclays about the imminent change.

I have kept and use my Egg Money card purely for muling, does anyone know if any other card offers this service or is there another way to handle cash in this way with a balance transfer.
