Update 07/11/2016
Well I pretty much think that October has been a success in terms of achievement of goals. Huge amount done...but still aware that there is still more to be done; but at least in certain areas I can slow down a bit - really pleased about that.
So, in summary:
Birthday Cards: Most bought and sorted - have also found all my blank cards (there are quite a few) and put them in an easily accessible box in the study; so before I buy any more, I will check the box to see if I have anything suitable.
Birthday Presents: Bought the ones I needed to...must be more organised here.
Work Clothes: Been looking, but haven't found anything yet - getting a bit desperate now for a new jacket - maybe I'll ask DH if he wants to take me shopping next week!!
Self-employed stuff: Have carried on researching and making notes, have also asked a friend of mine to make some enquires on my behalf regarding a trial. Should hear back this week on that one.
E-bay: No real progress apart from putting all the ebay stuff in one place - well, it's a start
Fire Surround - SOLD!!!
Huge amount done to the house in October:
Kitchen
Finished to a point. Non-urgent jobs include new radiator, under cupboard lights, fan fitting, paint doors of understairs cupboard and perhaps seal the kitchen floor. Also of course we have the saga of the cooker door - which should be resolved on my week off (2 weeks time).
Decluttering & Organising
Not quite finished to my target, but planning to keep chipping away - albeit at a more leisurely pace.
Deep Clean House
House is clean and tidy - just need to keep it that way.
We will continue to try and make it more homey on the run up to Christmas - but really pleased with what we have achieved in such a short space of time.
Garden
All planting done and some of the bulbs are shooting already!. Just need to do last lawn cut, pick last produce and dig up veggie plants.
Charity paperwork
Alot done, but not finished. Again going to plod on with this at a more sedate pace with an aim to getting it finished by mid Jan 2017.
Clothes - sorted!
New goals come into play before Christmas, but really hoping I will be able to do this at a slower pace as I am pretty shattered and run down at the moment. It's all been worth it though as we had a wonderful weekend with my friends coming to stay and we got loads done that we might not have got done otherwise.

We had the bloke come about the roof and we are really pleased with the price and his availability as he can do it before he breaks up for 3 months on 09 December if we let him know by Tuesday!! Need to have a chat with DH tonight about it and I am pretty sure we are going to push the button with this - getting cold now and we could do with the drafts cutting off for the winter.
Weekend was great, but unfortunately I wasn't feeling the best which put a bit of dampener on it for me - but I did what I set out to do and I am patting us both on the back for that as we worked soooo hard. Time to slow down a bit now - even though there are things to do, it won't be such a constant grind and we will actually be able to do some things together soon!!!
Charity meeting tonight, so need to get the minutes done in a moment - hope it doesn't drag on as I am so tired and really need some rest.
£500 OP made this morning :j Will update figures when it's registered on our account.
Still need to sort finances out and have got a feeling I will be bringing them to work at some point this week to get them finished and things paid more than the minimum. Really glad I will have a bit more time to do this as I don't like not knowing exactly where we are - I know we are ok, but need to get it all back on track.
We have a fair few left overs from the weekend so will be incorporating those into my meals over the next few days/weeks. November is going to be live out of the freezer and cupboards as much as possible to make room for Christmas stuff.
I hope everyone is well and I wish you all a good week ahead.

Feel a bit better today, but could still do with a couple of days rest before doing anything strenuous again!
Quick visit to Mum's on the way home, then we are going to strip guest beds and wash bed clothes and towels.
And that is pretty much it!
Mortgage figure updated...we should have permanently broken the £100k barrier now - so really happy with that.
Confirmed with the roofing fella about the job and we should be all snug and water tight in about 3 weeks max - won't be able to start the job till next week I would think.
Seafood Paella to tea tonight with my new purchases of prawns and squid rings from the Chinese supermarket.
And relax!!!

Thanks Cookie!
Taste was good - it was just that no matter how long I cooked it - the rice just would not cook! 40 mins later on a 15 min recipe (I use basmati rice) - I gave up! Couldn't eat it all which was a shame.

As you can see from above - tea didn't go well last night. Was a pity as I was really looking forward to it - ate my prawns and squid rings though.
The kitchen is absolutely freezing at the moment as we still have a 4 inch hole for the fan and no radiator - not sure how long I will be able to stand that...
Looks like they are going to scaffold the house for the roof over the weekend.
DH is getting really stressed about it all - I keep telling him that he doesn't really need to be there all the time as long as they have access to the back of the house (which they will). I think he is thinking 'bang goes my weekend off' - must really try to reassure him and make sure we do something nice next week.
In the meantime, I need to look at cladding for the one part of the roof apex - i'll see what I can sort.
Hopefully tea won't go wrong tonight! LO Brisket and onions from the freezer to be made into a pie. Fingers crossed.
Happy hump day all - this week is flying by.

Last minute night out yesterday for my school friend who is off to LA for 3 months. We managed to eat said pie first!!!
Semi-busy evening planned - bit of shopping, pop to my friend's to drop off some plants and compost and nip to mums as travelling up North the weekend to see friends. DH will be travelling to Wales on Sunday to visit friends there - want to do both, but really not possible!
Planning a more DH friendly week next week - we are going shopping on Tuesday and having a meal afterwards. No yoga at the moment so will be free on Friday too - really need to spend some quality time together.
House may be a little cold next week if they start the roof straight away - but I can't wait to get it done. (Bet the neighbours will be happy when we've stopped faffing about too).
Desperately need to sort out finances next week too. Going to take receipts and stuff to work.
Steak and left over lemon and basil potatoes for tea tonight - yum, yum!
