I am fortunate that DH had a brain-wave about the broadband and TV. the roofers had moved one of their ladders and dug it into our front lawn - what was the chance that they would hit our network cable??? Well, he moved the ladder and the services returned...however, we believe that the cable is probably damaged now and so VM are still coming out on Wednesday to have a look and probably put a patch on it.
It's absolutely chucking it down today and the house is quite cold as we are minus a window (covered up with roofing felt). Was going to do my shopping today, but it's so rotten out there I thought I'd stay in. Got a meeting later - so stealing myself to go out in the cold then.
Still, I have got a few things achieved...accounts are now up to date (took me 3 hours) and the credit cards have been paid..all my balances are up to date and tomorrow I will transfer what I need to from other pots to pay for the roof and some other things we have bought.
Washing is nearly there...3 loads down, 2 to do which I will do tomorrow.
Repair man coming tomorrow to fix the cooker door (fingers crossed), windows are arriving, got massage booked (might have to postpone this again...) and going to see a friend whose birthday is this week. Going to make her a cake before the repair man comes...
Still got to do leaflets and numerous other jobs. Just about to do the minutes for tonight's meeting and make my shopping list.
Hope everyone has a good week.

Urrggghhhh....roof still not done - they hadn't quoted for the back roof (perils of doing things without paperwork!) - anyway - getting that done this week - the main roof is now finished.
Washing was done up to date so I won't be too far behind come next weekend.
Various problems encountered with charity stuff last week - but we finally got to the fundraiser yesterday and it went fairly well.
A bit of self employed stuff done - just feeling my way with a few things.
Didn't manage to get ANYTHING done at mum's last week - really disappointed - but with waiting in for VM, parcels, repair men - I just couldn't get everything done - frustrated!
But this week is another week and although I am back at work I am going to try and get some of the oddments of jobs done.
Head isn't completely firing on all cylinders today as I have such a mix of stuff going round and round. Hope to make a list tonight and get things out of my head and onto paper.
All I do know is that I need to start making some money to replenish savings - DH and I have to get going with fleabay - there always seems to be something that is getting in the way though; but I am sure that once the roof is finished we will be able to concentrate better on stuff.

Roof will be finished today and we will be £6.5k lighter - should be well worth it though...it frosted this morning and the house was a good 3 degrees warmer than it has been previously when it's been cold (and that's without the heating on!)
Hoping that it will make a difference as the weather gets consistently colder and that we will actually retain what heat we are making instead of loosing it straight out the roof!
I am sure the cat will be pleased that the main amount of banging about is now finished...
I need to update my figures on my signature - we still have a bit in the renovation pot and if we have any left after radiator changes and insulation I will chuck it at the kitchen/roof expenses that we have on the CC.
We have really got to pull the financial strings in now (with a small allowance for treats) and get the CC paid and some of the savings recouped.
Dinner from the freezer tonight - Tandoori Chicken I didn't cook when my friends were here (so bunged it in the freezer) - we have naan bread in the freezer too and some salad in the fridge - yum, yum...

Hello, haven't been in here before, but will subscribe and follow. Great the roof is done - when we moved from a tiled roof barn with literally tiles laid on the beams to a fully insulated place, the different was amazing.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Hi

Got back to home to half the scaffolding removed! That's good...but also good that DH managed to do a little job up there yesterday morning - plugging a hole in the soffit - would have made a nice home for creatures otherwise.
Managed to go straight home last night and cooked sausage casserole using stuff from the fridge and freezer - it was delicious with a big mound of mashed potato!
Next stage it to try and get a rad sorted for at least the kitchen - it is freezing in there. DH can't sort this till next week - so still sorting stuff on the run up to Christmas.
Need to make a list, do some internet shopping and get my cards sorted for posting. I am sure it won't seem so daunting when the list is done (maybe).
Not sure what's on the menu today - going to get something from the shops on the way home as part of the shop. I have made a list of meals I can make out of the freezer though and will be incorporating them into our meal plan over the next couple of weeks. I really need to get that done aswell - will be one thing off my mind.
Hope all is well for everyone this week...the weekend is fast approaching and I have no idea where this week has gone!

Busy week this week.
- Charity Accounts to be completed.
- 2 x Christmas Meals (Charity & work!)
- Self employed stuff happening
- Christmas shopping happening
- Cooker door should be fixed on Saturday.
Eating from the freezer and trying to make space for Christmas goodies.
Had a lovely day on Sunday - breakfast in bed, few chores, afternoon out at local Christmas market (presents bought and friends bumped in to), dinner down the MILs - after a very topsy turvey week, it was great!
Hope everyone is well. Hope to catch up in a couple of days.

Still busy:
- Charity accounts now at the accountant for formulation
- Charity Christmas meal tonight - looking forward to it...
- More self employed stuff happening
- A little more shopping to be done - but not too much
- Waiting with baited breath about the door
One of my colleagues had some bad news yesterday and as so happens with small tight knit companies, it affects us all - wishing him and his family all the best - difficult times ahead.
So, although I am disgruntled with work, I need to step up to the mark as my Manager will be off for a while and certainly won't have his mind on the job for a good long while.
SC dinner using bits from fridge and freezer was enjoyed last night.
Suspension spring has snapped on the car - called AA this morning - they checked it (to tell me what the problem was) and then said it would be safe for me to drive to work - so I have and the car has gone straight in the garage (conveniently over the road from work) and they have given me a courtesy car as they won't get it finished today.
At least I still have a car so can get the shopping done on the way home.
Better crack on - just wanted to touch base...
