So, another busy weekend as you can see by my list update.
The house is really coming together now and we are making progress on making the house a home. Went and fetched the cushions to match the curtains on Saturday and swapped some cushions over from the attic that had barely been used to go with the new additions...all starting to look very warm and cosy.
Picked up toaster on Saturday, but they hadn't sent the kettle - was going to chase it up today, but I have received an e-mail saying that it has arrived at the collection point now!! Really pleased that wasn't another problem to sort out. Electric wood burner type fire for the conservatory has now arrived too (so glad it didn't go to the wire on Friday - I would have had to come to work on my day off to collect!) So all going to be looking good and keeping warm.
All purchases on cashback credit card at 0% interest!
Took Mum to have her hair done on Saturday and she is insisting on giving me the money back next week - bless - she doesn't need to, but it does help! I am also going to take her shopping on Friday afternoon - only locally, but she wants me to come with her. So, I will finish my food prep for the weekend and take Mum to the shops - think I might suggest we make this a regular thing - it's only small, but important for the both of us...
Tonight I am going to the Chinese supermarket after work, then dropping some stuff in the Charity office and then picking up my kettle before going home. If I get home in time, I will be painting out the cupboard under the stairs and then preparing a delicious meal of YS Swordfish Steaks with Avocado filled Jacket Potatoes and veggies. then I will probably collapse into bed!!!
Hope everyone is well and I wish you all a good week.

I'm in awe! Really, I am! And you're not subsisting on spag bol either, the sound of your meal tonight is amazing! Congratulations2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Oh, and forgot to say that DH put the curtains up on Friday when I was at yoga - the difference it makes is incredible - so cosy looking - just what we needed in that room as it was a little stark and un-inviting before.
Fab...can't beleive how excited I am getting over all this...most unlike me.

Of course
but it's not out of a tin, and it's not every night
See! You're brilliant :j and you did yoga.
I really like my curtains in my living room, but what really made the difference was the lighting - a standard lamp and a table lamp together make it a lovely atmosphere.
Remember to get a few nights good sleep before your guests arrive!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Chinese Supermarket - done
Drop stuff at office - done
Pick up kettle - done
Painting - NOT DONE
3 out of 4 isn't bad.
Didn't get home till late as there was a diversion on the way back from the Supermarket and got stuck in loads of traffic - was shattered when I got home. DH hadn't done any painting either and he said that he wasn't going to start then as we would then be eating really late. He's going to try and get tomorrow afternoon off to get it done.
Fire placed in conservatory and it looks (and feels) really nice - relaxed in there for a few minutes before making dinner. Kettle - not so impressed with - the handle and base look very plasticy - but to be fair it was the best of a bad bunch colour wise - I will keep hold of it for now and probably replace for a plain cream one in a couple of years.
Shopping completed at the Chinese supermarket - please with purchases - they will keep us going for a while.
Today is getting rid of fireplace day (fingers crossed) and then I need to organise the freezers so I have space for a few more bits for the weekend catering.
Feeling pretty tired and this cold is trying to take hold - but not going to let it! Went to bed early on Sunday night and also had a good sleep last night - hopefully this will continue throughout the week so I will be fit for the weekend.
Really looking forward to seeing all my old friends and mum is really looking forward to it too - will be a bit of an outing for her (even if it is only at my house round the corner!).
Turkey spag bol for tea and will probably add some garlic bread for good measure - loosing weight (unintentionally) at the moment which is not good for me - need to keep my calories up!

Fire Surround is gone and we are £30 richer (and charity £5 for use of the van!).
It took longer than anticipated to deliver as there was a bit of tooing and froing - but we got there in the end. Also managed to drop some scrap at the charity HQ so it's out of my way (we cash it in as a bit of a fundraiser).
Cooked tea and then flopped on the sofa - cat got on my lap and I just conked out!
Feeling a bit carp today, the sore throat is slightly more than annoying now - but need to keep fighting - it can hit me on Monday if it likes!
DH is hoping to get a couple of hours off this afternoon to do some painting. Tonight is the first wave of weekend shopping and then we need to pop to see my MIL as it's her birthday. Plus need to see my friend on the way home as it's her birthday too - it's all go!
Off to !kea at lunchtime as it's about 10 mins drive from work - need candles and a couple of other bits - might just have a spot of lunch while I'm there if I've got time.
We are on the home stretch, but it still seems out of reach at the moment - bits and pieces done over the last couple of days, but no painting!
On the money front - looking forward to making our bi-monthly OP in a few days time.
£1.19 added to the house fund - interest on joint current account.
All other accounts and figures to be completed early next week - need to make a CC payment before the weekend though - just going to do the minimum and work out the rest next week and add to it then. Really must make time for all this once everything calms down.
Happy hump day everyone.

Felt carp last night - got the shopping done, a few bits at home and then went to see MIL as it was her birthday. Went home, cooked tea (while DH continued painting) and then went to sleep on the sofa - DH said I should have a night off to try and recover.
DH finished the painting and it looks good - I know he is a perfectionist so I hope he hasn't tatted with it too much while I'm at work today.
Hoping he will have the porch clear when I get home and then I can clean that.
2nd wave of shopping planned tonight, then home to finish cleaning and to iron my tablecloth.
Feel a bit better today - no more stomach issues and I have taken some cold capsules which are keeping the vast majority of the cold at bay.
Loads on at work and rushing to get things finished off before my day off tomorrow. Keeping it quiet though, so I don't have a sales meeting sprung on me...(never get anything done then!!!)
Roofer is coming tomorrow afternoon to give us a quote - fingers crossed it's going to be a bite your hand off price and fingers crossed he'll be ab;e to do it before xmas.
Probably won't be on again until the weekend is over...so I wish you all a good one. Wish me luck for getting everything done.
