Fire surround is still propped up in the lounge. Hoping to make arrangements soon to shift it - got to be gone by Thursday next week at the VERY latest.
Few things returned on the way home £13 refund.
Cleaned the middle section of the lounge last night - lots of ornaments, so took a while - and moved the kitchen bin back in the kitchen :rotfl:
Hope to finish the room off tonight before attacking the paperwork.
Chicken Stew in the SC for later, so can get on with the tidying and cleaning without having to stop except to make some mash...
Happy Hump Day everyone.

Go you!
I think a decluttered home is less distracting since you are not constantly seeing reminders of seeing things you "should" have done and feeling guilty.0 -
That's a very good point SHS...x
Lounge finished as far as cleaning is concerned - just a few things to move - but can't do that till I have some light to sort out the tool store outside (that will be Saturday then!!).
Still a fair bit to do, but most of it hinges on getting the kitchen decorated and the boxes of paperwork sorted - alot of it is just moving things back to where they should be and then cleaning in the spaces they have been occupying for the last 3 months!!!
Small amount of gardening to be done - will allocate a couple of hours at the weekend to sort that out.
Saturday could probably be summarised by the phrase, "Plants, PVC and Paperwork" (PVC being wiping all the PVC down:rotfl:)
Collected curtains and tie backs (cashback has tracked). Checked blow up bed - it inflated...need to check if it stays this way - in any case need to order a single one.
Cushions will probably be in stock at the weekend.
Still going to be a busy few days, but will all be worth it - can see the light at the end of the tunnel now.
Off out tonight - but going to do a cheeky deep clean of the bathroom before we go (so I have at least done something tonight).
Burgers for tea as they are quick and easy.

Blimey MCI, I can understand why you can see the light at the end of the tunnel, you've done an **amazing** amount of work, well done!2023: the year I get to buy a car0

It's Friday!! and the time seems to be going really quickly...
Bathroom deep clean completed before going out to see my friend do his last gig in the UK before he goes off the LA - alright for some.
Feel quite bouncy and happy today - but that could all be knocked out of me this afternoon when we have our sales meeting!!! Going to try to keep a positive outlook.
Shopping on the way home.
Salmon for tea.
Hope to wipe the PVC outside down before I go off the yoga tonight - lets see how the light holds.

Hope the meeting went ok? I can't believe how dark it's got all of a sudden... and clocks change this weekend :eek:a penny picker upper. Wow, you sound like you've been madly busy, but I'm glad to hear that you are feeling the benefit of all your hard work around the house.
I definitely felt 'lighter' after getting my decluttering done.
Nowadays, if something's not required, I get rid of it, whether by eBay, charity shop, recycling, or bin, as soon as I can. It'd be awful to get cluttered againEarly retired - 18th December 2014

List Update 31/10/2016
October:
Spending Money:
- Birthday Cards: We have loads of birthdays between now and the end of the year, so need to make a list and go and buy them all in one go. List done - cards to be purchased tomorrow - all 18 of them !!!! 10 cards purchased; rest to be got this week - still to be done (target 01/11)
- Birthday Presents: Same as above, but fewer to buy - probably not in one go - but need to make a list and get buying. Been looking, but not bought anything yet same same
- Purchase new work clothes and one or two nice tops for occasions. Not anything to do with work - but ordered a pair of Jeans in the N3xt sale same (finally picked up my jeans yesterday!!!
- Look into some self employed stuff. On-going same
- Buy one or two blow up beds. (will become clear further down the list) Will be checking the bed we have found this weekend coming - then I will see what I will need to purchase not done yet - hopefully this week some time still to be done done - the double bed we found is fine and I have purchased a single blow up bed
Making Money:
-e-bay: Been putting it off long enough - need to target a few items to put on before the end of the year. same; but more stuff put into boxes ready for ebaying same
-FB Selling: Fire surround needs to go (it's monsterous!) - need to get pics of DH and stick it on FB locally - need the money and need it out of the way. Fire Surround has been put on the local FB Selling sites - fingers crossed - still on-going with a couple of enquires 10/10 should be sold tonight 17/10should be tomorrow 25/10 tomorrow 01/11
- Look into some self employed stuff same
Getting the house sorted (have friends coming to stay first weekend in November so need to get loads done).
- Finish sorting kitchen stuff (if it's not finished by the time I start this list - hopefully this part will all be done) everything is back in the cupboards - just need the kitchen finishing so I can put things on the surfaces In progress ready to happen tonight!just painting to be done and radiator to be fitted DH has been working really hard on the decorating - glossing and ceiling done - just walls now (radiator will have to wait - not that urgent)
- Keep chipping away at decluttering and organising the study on the evenings and weekends - gradual process; can't do too much in one go. Had a huge tidy up over the weekend - DH built the new unit, but I think it has just highlighted how much more carp I have to get rid of - looking much better now though sorted a couple more boxes and DH has put a shelf up for me looking good - nearly done - bit more done - not so much on the paperwork front done - not going to stress too much if I don't get it all done before the weekend - too many 'dones' in that sentance.
- Tidy Spare Room, check blow up bed next weekend job started, but nowhere near finished getting there - not too much to be done done - just paperwork boxes if I get round to them
- Sort out attic room: there are loads of empty boxes, some packing materials and some odd boxes of bits and bobs from the move (to be sorted when all the kitchen stuff is back where it belongs) going to have a cardboard box cull this week part done attic is finished apart from hoovering and making up the bed - considerably less cardboard in the house still tidy! more cardboard disposed of
Targeted Jobs:
- Garden: Get bed planted up/lawns done 2nd October - weather dependant Weather was lovely - main planting done, just heathers and bulbs to go in same bulbs, heathers and carnations planted yesterday - so DONE
- Charity paperwork sort out and filing 8th/9th October Part done, got to carry on in the evenings 2 boxes to go same - well, half a box done at the weekend
- Sort clothes; re-arrange winter/summer stuff; get rid of things to charity shop 15th/16th October done - 2 bags for the charity shop stuff deposited with the local hospice done
- Deep clean house in preparation for friends coming to stay. 22nd/23rd October washed 4 throws at the weekend as a start dining room, conservatory, attic, lounge, bathroom - done
Still getting there - lots of bitty jobs to do: paperwork in the bedroom, ironing table cloth, cleaning the hall once the fridge/freezer has been moved back into the kitchen.
Oh and OTHER JOBS DONE THIS WEEKEND: Windows downstairs cleaned, PVC cleaned, tool store sorted out and a couple of things deposited in there, both fridges emptied and cleaned.
Alot of what else needs to be done depends on getting the kitchen finished - I have some things that need to go back ontop of cupboards, pictures to put up and the small freezer (and a few other bits) to go in the cupboard under the stairs.

Thanks PM. Fortunately we didn't have it....yay (will probabaly be tomorrow (booo) - don't really like it when it starts to get too dark - going to work and coming home in the dark is the worst!Goldiegirl wrote: »Wow, you sound like you've been madly busy, but I'm glad to hear that you are feeling the benefit of all your hard work around the house.

Thanks Goldie. I am glad that it's an actual genuine thing rather than me just going potty after all the stuff I've been doing...
Looking forward to having it all done - the work done up to this weekend is just the beginning really and we will continue well into next year. But to actually have a house that is less cluttered, tidy, clean and functional is going to be a god send.
Be great to be in a position where we can just get things sorted as we go along.
