    Oh no, not real work!

:D I recommend continuing to potter in the greenhouse :j but I hope the plant stall goes well - thats a really good idea to combine it with the polling station thing!

    Thanks KC

Really wish I could be pottering in the greenhouse...but 'real work' involves been stuck in front of a computer, 8 miles from home, looking at technical drawings and compiling quotations :(

Wish I could be helping with the plant stall too...but I need the money from my real work ;)

Hoped to make my first OP today - but I hadn't set my preferences up online ie so that the term comes down not the payment - and I've got to wait another 5 working days before it's all set up :(

So I'll do it next week then!

Salon treatment launch was great - had a lovely time chatting and forgetting about 'real life' for a couple of hours.

Herr A shopping is on the agenda tonight along with voting and then some pottering in the greenhouse before dinner

Oof, that does sound like "real work" :( your brain definitely need to be fully functional for that - hope you feel a bit better today too.

Your first OP is about to happen! Congratulations! Sorry it couldn't be today, but you're definitely on your way now :)

Thanks KC - it's exciting to be (nearly) be back on the MFW road. Going to take it steady for now while we are getting essentials done on the house and hope to ramp up next year.

To be honest after 21 years in the same job I am getting a little tired of it - there is plenty of variety, but bored of sitting at a desk all the time.

I had forgotten to transfer £150 to the Kitchen Fund from my pay rise - so that is now done.

Still feeling a little rough - had a bad night - only 3 hours sleep. Still determined to go to yoga tonight - might just be what I need.

Plant sale didn't really go well - they had a few enquiries and they gave out some leaflets for our Hanging Basket Event in a fortnight - not totally fruitless - but no cash earned!

Went to retrieve my plants last night and they are now safely back in the greenhouse.

Bought a new blueberry bush (£shop) as I had to leave mine at the allotment - will plant it in a pot at the weekend while the beds are being prepared.

We are really hoping for good weather this summer. As we are having the kitchen done, it will be wonderful respite to get out in the garden and concentrate on that while the house is in uproar - hoping to eat out there too! (So jealous when Goldie said she had lunch outside yesterday).

So glad it's Friday...despite it being a four day week, it really has dragged.

    Happy weekend all.

    Phew! What a weekend.

Was absolutely fed up on Saturday with the fact that every time I want to print something out I have to balance my laptop on top of a pile of boxes and stand there while I sort it out - when I'm using my laptop I'm either downstairs (and then have to plod upstairs to print) or in the bedroom sitting on the bed (where my back hurts if I am doing a fair bit).

So, I had a switch round in the study (and a bit of a tidy) and made myself a makeshift desk out of boxes and other accessories. I can sit at it and although not perfect (can't get my knees underneath) - it's much better than having to faff about. Should be getting my desk back from the charity office in the summer - when I have time to sort the rest of the study out.

But I am so proud, I have got the shredder set up and I shredded a folder full of our family friends' financial information (all about unit trusts etc...) - first of many I hope.

Got the charity work, chores and the visiting done.

Sunday was spent buying compost and spending time in the garden. DH is shifting gravel still and we now have a clear bed ready for digging over (this is going to be the veggie patch). I was potting up bedding plants in the greenhouse for the Charity event we have in a couple of weeks.

We had a snack outside - lovely!

The cat came outside for a while too - she was really happy to do this - I was so nervous - then she just settled back down in the conservatory with the door open enjoying comfort and fresh air at the same time.

Nothing on the money front - but trying to keep the spends down - though I may have gone a bit mad ordering bulbs for the autumn and next spring (was ordering bargain bedding plants for charity plant stall and wanted to make the order worthwhile for the delivery charge). I did get cashback through £co though and paid on my Sainsbug's CC to get nectar points - am I forgiven?

My thinking was that the bulbs will come back year on year - so are really a good investment (they were in the sale).

I suppose I am just trying to justify my purchases (which have come out of my dividend spends).

Hope the sun is shining where you all are and I wish you a fantastic week ahead.

Sitting at my make shift desk typing this. It's absolute bliss!

Busy, busy at the moment with the fundraiser at the end of next week and starting to prepare in earnest for our holiday (which is only 17 days away - not that I'm counting at all).

Still nothing on the money front - it's that dry couple of weeks...

Menu plan is going ok and tonight we have Turkey Stroganoff (one of DHs favourites).

Weather is pretty rotten here, so no leaflet delivering for me tonight (relieved really as didn't get home till late). Just means I have more to do on the run up to our event.

Charity meeting last night and it really was like pulling teeth...just deleted a moaning paragraph - shouldn't do that really.

On the plus side I have more cucumber seedlings coming through and a couple more courgettes of a different type - plus we have 540 bedding plants on the way for our charity plant stall - at the bargain price of £20 - should really keep us going (with a bit of effort re-planting etc...but means we raise more in the long run).

Off to count my 50p stash before going to cook tea.

You really are doing a lot! And so much of it for charity too, thats got to be good karma :) Love the sound of your desk - waiting around for printing always drives me crazy, though I print as little as possible - its usually a letter that has to be sent when I can't do something by email ...

    Enjoy the stroganoff :)

Forgot to say yesterday that I have sold my allotment!

Got a call out the blue yesterday - £50 offered and I snapped their hand off. It is a loss, but then again , so was the whole project - spent so much money on it! Apparently there are 6 plots for sale and NO waiting list (which is very unusual) - I've only sold mine as someone with a plot already wants to move - very strange - why would they want a plot full of horsetail - BUT I'm not complaining as it get's out of my hair and I won't be liable for any more fees etc...

£50 is split between my friend and I with whom I bought it with in the first place - she is relieved too.

Didn't get round to counting the 50ps - went and watered the greenhouse in the rain instead!!

    Sausage & Mash tonight.

Happy Hump Day everyone - where is the time going.

PS Going to make my OP tomorrow!
