Happy Hump Day! Just noticed on page 100!!!!
I have noticed that there have been a fair few 50ps going into the Penguin pot (have another one in my purse to go in!) - must have a count up and see if there's enough to put in the bank.
Claim for Dentist's costs done and posted. Should get that back next week - they are fairly quick. DH still hasn't done his from January - he will probably only have a few days as you have to do it within 3 months of treatment.
Condolence cards bought and posted.
Notice of leaving allotment letter done and ready to drop in the box later. Needs to be sorted before any more subs are due.
10 pots of sweet peas planted last night - was nice to get out in the evening sunshine and do a bit. These are to sell on the charity plant stall - got some more to do for us in the garden - maybe tonight if it's not raining - is sporadically persisting down here!
Pork Joint with garlic, lemon, fennel seeds and sage in the Slow Cooker today (just about to click on using the timer!) - DH is going down his Mum's to finish some work on her bedroom, but at least dinner will be an easy prepare when he gets back - only veg, mash and gravy to do.
Still got receipts to do and add surplus from last month (whatever that may be) to the Kitchen Fund - believe me, we are going to need it.

Really sorry to hear your news MCI
Flowers are a great was to remember someone.
When I finally gave up the tenancy on my parents house I took some cuttings from their garden, and it always pleases me when they bloom each yearEarly retired - 18th December 2014

Sending lots of digital hugs, MCI (for everything from this week). Your meadow display sounds like an utterly wonderful and special way to remember your friend xxxa penny picker upper. Thanks Goldie - did the same with my Grandad's garden - brought a plant back, but couldn't bring it with me to the new house - so took some cuttings which have all taken - I'm looking forward to planting them this year.
May have to try and think of something permanent to remember loved ones - but not in a morbid way like the last owners with their stone dog graves...not to my taste I am afraid - but each to their own...:)Pearla*Merle wrote: »Sending lots of digital hugs, MCI (for everything from this week). Thank you PM - I have certainly needed them this week.
Can't wait to get the bed cleared of gravel and my bushes and the seeds planted. Hope to post a pic when it's in bloom.

Spent yesterday lunchtime clearing and sorting my work handbag of receipts and paperwork - it's so much lighter now (have liberated the change into our change savings bottle).
It was persisting down when I got home last night, so after feeding the cat I decided to try and get the receipts reconciled and my figures sorted.
This was nearly all done when DH got home and I was just about to finish updating my spreadsheets when my laptop decided to install updates without me being able to do anything about it. It took HOURS! Good thing I had decided to just leave it to it! By bedtime it still wasn't finished...unbelievable! Sorted and switched off now, spreadsheets saved but not completed - will do this later (so glad I didn't loose what I'd done.
Anyhoo, final shuffle and calculations just done and we have £270.94 left (after taking a £50 buffer into consideration). I've spoken to DH and I am going to transfer £50 to him (he had to renew his passport) and the remaining £220.94 will go into the Kitchen Fund.
Also had a meagre £2.31 left in the grocery budget which I have transferred to the House Fund. I had expected to do alot better considering all the food we've eaten out of the freezer and the amount of meals we went out for last month (whoops) - but then I remembered it was a five week month, so although not great - it could have been worse!
I will be completing the spreadsheets when I get home tonight after shopping (not much to get).
I should hear either today or tomorrow when the funeral is and then I can plan my next couple of weeks.
Forgot to drop that letter off to the allotments, will swing by later.
Fish for tea (from the freezer)!

I've been caught out by late night software updates too - horrible! Sometimes I've just let it run, which always makes me slightly dubious...
Something permanent to remember loved ones ... it's tricky, isn't it. When my brother in law died, my sister had a *lot* of insurance money come her way, and she decided to give £1,000 for an acre of Woodland Trust wood, at a specified place, to be named in his memory, they sent a map marking it out. Its a bit much, I know, but there may be other things. Oh, benches! A bench at a favourite spot? Didn't mean to push, it just popped into my head2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Glad to be of assistance!
DH wouldn't be coming away with me if he hadn't got it sorted :rotfl:
