That one liner is worth of a standup comedian, after the awful time you've just had!

Your really deserve for it to go well now - and to enjoy the coming weekend :)
2023: the year I get to buy a car
  • Oh crikey, that sounds like an absolute 'mare, MCI! So glad to hear things have worked out as best they can, considering.

Hoping you manage to have a lovely, restful weekend too xx

PS. I have a similar work handbag situation...
a penny picker upper. MFW approx 78% to go | FIRE 3 years worth (30% savings rate: now aiming for 40%!) | Normality is a paved road; it's comfortable to walk, but no flowers grow on it | Whatever you're meant to do, do it now. The conditions are always impossible | The only thing you absolutely have to know, is the location of the library
  • We are officially landlords!!!!

Lease signed and delivered and tenants should be moved in by now.

Feels really strange that there are other people, strangers - living in our little house.

First payment will be on 01 April lol

Council contacted - should be a refund from there.
Gas/Electric readings submitted and bill paid. Also contacted to close down account.
Water board contacted - are going to refund us from when we moved out at the end of June!!!! £162!!!
Insurance contacted - £30 Cancellation charge.
TV licence people contacted and informed there are now tenants at the property.

All in all we should be about £80-£100 up with the refund - nice contribution to the house fund once it's all sorted.

Now we can get on with getting stuff done at the new house and making some over payments - can't wait.

Lying here in bed as I am not feeling the best - not a lot of sleep last night and every time I've tried to rest today I've been woken up. Got a bit of a cold and feel generally run down - my usual reaction when a stressful time comes to an end. Hope I feel better tomorrow as I have a tonne of chores to do.

    Wishing everyone a great weekend.

    Brilliant little add-on there :j

Seriously though, congratulations at being landlords! Excellent news - so now, since you're lurgified, really really take care of yourself. Hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend, and have a more peaceful time now.

  • Been trying to rest as much as possible - unusual for me but have been feeling wiped out!

Few seeds planted today which are now on the windows sill.

Counted up 50ps - another £20 to pay in.

Going to settle down with my book that I started to read 12 months ago! Starting again from the beginning as I only got a few pages in last time.

Work tomorrow and the boss is back from holiday and will no doubt be on a mission - sigh!

  • £9.23 added to house fund - left over in joint account from rental expenses.

Off to the bank later to pay in and check my address on my account. Last credit card bill went to the old house - despite me filling in forms etc... when we moved - current account is online banking - but really don't want any financial stuff going to the old house now we have tenants.

  • Fish Spaghetti on the menu tonight.

Need to finish off my chores and do the freezer inventory.

(DH said - "freezer inventory? you've got two of them" OMG! :rotfl:)

Yoda and 50p money transferred - off to update signature.

    Can't believe it's Monday again!

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
    :) Mortgage Balance = £0 :)

  • Bank details all sorted.
    50ps paid in.
Fish Spaghetti didn't happen - had cottage pie from the freezer instead (was feeling carp and DH cooked).

£300 transferred from my bonus to the house fund.
£330 transferred from joint savings to house fund - left over from rental budget.

DH has gone to take his Mum to look for dado rail! She is systematically re-decorating the house in preparation for her final retirement (when she is 70 - end of 2017).

So while he's out I have done the charity wages and just doing my update here - going to get dinner on shortly too.

Had some big pots with strawberries plants in stolen from the allotment - really glad I'm giving it up now - fed up with things going missing and junk being chucked on our patch.

Shopping week this week, but going out early on Friday so can't dilly dally.

HM Chilli, brown rice, salad & dips for dinner - just going to get started on that now.
