I'm sure it is the right decision KC - just wish it had been a little easier - but it should be less hassle in the long run. As it's local authority linked, the standards are a lot higher than if we were renting it out ourselves. Looking forward to the money coming in and not having to worry any more as it will be the lease companies responsibility.
There isn't much to take an inventory on really as they insist that it is un-furnished. The bits we are leaving there we are gifting to the new tenants and then they will be their responsibility.
Three blinds in the front room and one in the front bedroom (cut to size so no good anywhere else) Built in bins in the kitchen cupboard, an extractor hood in the kitchen, a cupboard in the bathroom and various shelves fixed to the walls. Didn't think it was that much really, but when you write it all down it's a bit more than I thought.
I suppose that they will note all the fixtures aswell like wall lights etc...
What I'm trying to say is, yes - it's a good step along the way...
Can't wait to finish work and get it done.

Done! EXCEPT DH has got to run one brushful of stain down the inside edge of the front door (where he planed some off as it was sticking) and he's going to drop the instructions off for the boiler.
Prawn Toast was delish - Beef wasn't so good as I'd forgotten to set the timer right and it hadn't come on when I got home - whacked it on full, then turned it down when we got back from the rental. It was fine - just not my best effort.
Not sure what we are having tonight as DH has got to help his brother (more car trouble in the family) - but going shopping later so will probably pick something up just for him and I'll have a veggie burger or something.
Work is a bit strained - can't wait for the weekend.
Hope everyone is well.

Happy Friday everyone.
it's been a long week and I am really glad it's nearing it's end.
Few items to get from Mr T on the way home, then definitely looking forward to yoga this evening.
DH didn't go and help his bro last night - apparently that will be tonight.
Staining done at the rental, but he forgot to drop boiler instructions off - no matter - we still have to pop in to get the gas/elec readings when the lease is signed.
Financials and Annual Report for charity AGM to do tomorrow. Might do a bit when I get back from yoga - but I will see.
The best part of the weekend will hopefully be Sunday - DH is taking me out for the day (to a furniture shop he really likes in a town 20 miles away :rotfl: - I feel expensive house plans in the offing) If we are lucky we might get some lunch out, but it just depends on how packed places are. Got a nice simple meal planned for Sunday night we intend to chill with a couple of glasses of vino.
Chicken Stir Fry planned for tonight - good job really as I don't know what time we will be eating - at least I can get everything prepped ready.
Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Hi KC!
The fire costs alot to run - so we don't have it one very often - but thought we'd be nice an cosy that evening.
Really pleased about the saving on the holiday - every little helps as they say - £4 cashback on insurance too!;)

Very stressful evening - thought everything was going to go pear-shaped!
We were informed that the company that we were leasing to would now not give us any maintenance allowance (as specified in the pack). The insurance that we take out with them would be £95 and not free as stated on their web-site. Apparently the information they gave us was 18 months out of date. They were pushing us to sign the lease as they had people that are ready to move in TODAY!!! (not the 26th as planned).
DH was livid and I was fuming - the long and the short of it was that we decided to still go with them as the reduced hassle factor of dealing with void periods, non-payment of rent and anti-social behaviour still appealed, but we are going to put a complaint in for the mis information that we have been fed! We have written a letter specifying that all the items we have left at the house are gifted to the new residents and will be their responsibility.
Anyhow, this morning the solicitor got back to me about the lease - there was one small change. DH sorted out the absence of a maintenance allowance and they are now going to give us £1000 over the 5 years and free insurance for the first year! Good work DH!
As DH is an employee of the company he thought that it was better to point it out to them and make sure it doesn't happen to anyone else - he doesn't want the company's reputation to be ruined by this service to the public. We still may make a complaint - but in a way that will get the information corrected for future applicants to this private landlord scheme. It's a really good idea - but we have been managed really badly - but in a way it was a good job it was us and not someone from the outside - at least with the new person taking over the management of the scheme means that the mistakes can be put right and they can move on - and so can we!!!
DH is coming over to work at lunchtime so I can sign the lease and he can get it back to them and the tenants will probably start moving in this afternoon!!!!!
Glad everything appears to be sorted now - but we had a very stressed few hours last night and we were both awake at 5am this morning so I went to make a cup tea for us both. Been a bit of backwards and forwards today - but I am hoping all on the home stretch now.
AND the roof hadn't leaked!
I was really glad that dinner was all but done in the slow cooker last night or we would have been calling in a takeaway!!!
