Today the weather is vile the forecast says 'a little rain' you have got to be joking, it's been pouring for hours (but it may clear up - we will see).

Today we are going to put up pictures and place ornaments around the house, get rid of empty boxes and continue to make our new house a home.

Still got a bit of paperwork to finish - copy marriage cert arrived so can send off to dvla for my new licence, need to do change of address on premium bonds (for when I win the million!) And I've got a couple of charity tasks to complete. Oh and suppose I better give DH the money back for the lawnmower he's ordered.

Enjoying not being at work today - even though I had a dream that I was at work and all I was doing was moaning that we shouldn't have been there!

Going to make a practically dairy free lasagne for tea - DH fancies it but we haven't had it for about 2 years because of his intolerance. Bechamel to be made with mainly stock and a drip of milk (he's okay with that) and will be doing a herby breadcrumb topping instead of cheese - hope it turns out okay - have missed it myself.

  • Didn't manage to get the paperwork done yesterday - but I've just done it during my lunch break.

Even though we had a bit of lie in yesterday, we still managed to get a load of stuff done. Ornaments put away and things put up on the walls. A bit of a discussion about the kitchen, some wine and the mostly dairy free lasagne.

The lounge is now looking like a proper room (be it a bit bare) now and we have had a discussion about what we need to do to make it more cosy. A curtain at the patio doors to the conservatory and a bookcase to split the room into two - it's already split as one part is carpeted and the other half is laminated with a step inbetween, but it needs something...

We do have too many ornaments and things - so once everything is sorted I think we will be having another cull! Loads of empty boxes, some recycled, some saved for the toy fair next weekend and some for DH to take back to work next week.

    On the money front:

    - £65 spent on a lawnmower (nectar points through fleabay)
    - £15.30 claimed from £co (my claim against mum's hearing aid has finally come through after 4 1/2 months)
    - £22.54 coming from MM - bank details verified and that should be on it's way too.
    - Still waiting for cheque from the auction house for the chairs
    - Made a few pennies over £75 on the buffet - money already allocated
    - Interest from bank account and small underspend on groceries to be transferred shortly
    - Personal money shuffling to be done tomorrow and payment of 50ps into the bank

Got a bit of Monday blues on a Tuesday - glad it's only a 4 day week - there I go wishing my life away again.

Fish and rice for dinner tonight after a trip to the allotment.

  • Non mse musings...

Since moving I have tried to be more active.

I have a step counter on my new phone and to begin with it was registering approx 3000 steps a day during the week - which apparently is quite average. (Although I don't carry my phone round with me all the time as I don't have a pocket in all my clothes).

My aim is to achieve at least an hours' activity everyday (it measures that too) and do over 5000 steps during the week and at least one achievement of 10,000 per week.

I know this doesn't seem like alot, but it's an increase on my activity before moving.

To be fair, even with this small increase I am feeling the difference. Plus, I walk up the allotment and back, walk to my mums, and walk to see my friends' on Saturdays. Fridays and Saturdays seem to be the most active days - but they also tend to be the days where I have my phone in my pocket!

I know I have only had two sessions of yoga - but I really think it's going to make a difference to me - fingers crossed.

Yesterdays' steps were 6861 - not going to keep mentioning it but I'm averaging 6-7000 per day in the week now - which is double what I was doing before.

I have noticed that I am falling asleep less on the sofa when watching TV (though I did nod off last night about 11pm) and I feel better, healthier, more energy. Still need more sleep though...

It's going to be a gradual process, I don't need to lose weight - I just need to be more active.

Got drowned up the allotment last night, but managed to pick a fair few tomatoes and runner beans (some which we had with our fish last night less than an hour from picking!) Chillis are doing well now, think I may have to pick some next week.

    50ps paid in.

£20 transferred to the kitchen fund.

Steak and HM Chips for tea (got to use that deep fat fryer now I've got it)

  • Happy weekend!

Cheque for chairs has arrived but no chance to pay it in as everyone went out yesterday lunchtime and I was left manning the phones Grr!

Need to check the bank for other payments.

    In other news

    - more tomatoes from the allotment
    - good yoga session - can feel it this morning but not painful
    - chores this morning and some work to do for the toy fair tomorrow
    - facial booked for 12.30 - another treat but I don't care!
    - need to make sandwiches and snacks for our packed breakfast/lunches for tomorrow
    - batteries galore to be replaced at mum's (don't ask)!
    - toy fair tomorrow, then barbecue round polish friends house for birthday celebrations
    - DH and friend are fixing the roof at new house today.

It's all go - glad of my little time outs - proper rest in Oct? Probably not!

Hope everyone has a great weekend whatever you are doing.

  • Toy Fair was good.

£279.50 net (£45 expenses) - not as good as last time, but it was a different sort of fair.

It didn't look like we came back with less than we went with - but we did (obviously). DH was please with the amount we made and I've really pleased - it went beyond expectations.

So, today I AM going down to the bank to pay in the chair cheque and £278 cash (£1.50 went into the 50ps). Not bad eh? lol

Need to check my account to see if MM or £co have arrived!

    Catch up later.

  • Finally made my trip to the bank.

£278 paid in from the Toy Fair proceeds
£405 paid in from sale of the chairs
£15.30 £co transferred to the kitchen fund

    Not bad!

Still to transfer to the fund: Interest from last month from current account; Small underspend on groceries. Still to come in: MM; £co for washer/freezer and probably more 50ps.

The start of another week and I am really feeling that I need a holiday away now - it's just relentless, but hey ho - here we go into another busy time.

DH feeling off the hooks and he's back at work tomorrow - he's only getting a couple of jobs done at the rental today and then he's going to rest up.

I have a charity meeting later!!! Think we are going to use it to plan for the rest of the year.

Not a meat free lunch today - LO bacon sandwich from yesterday with spinach and tomato with yoghurt & mint dressing (posh BLT that DH didn't eat as he was feeling bad).

Spag bol from the freezer tonight with garlic bread if fancied!

    Hope everyone is well.

  • No MM
No news on next £co payment
    50ps to be counted

£4.53 underspend on groceries and £4.01 in interest = £8.54 transferred to the fund.

Not such a good charity meeting - my attempts to stay relatively stress free have been thwarted and I am trying to use my new found yoga breathing techniques to calm myself down.

Allotment trip planned tonight (even though it's cold - how come it was lovely yesterday and cold today on the day I need to go up??)

Fish Pie planned for tonight's tea - hoping DH feels better so he can eat a reasonable amount.

  • Happy hump day!!!

Quite a few more tomatoes from the allotment, a few runner beans and a cucumber - spent my time trimming my tomato plants - lots more tomatoes on the way.

    No money news today :(

Busy at work, lots of visitors, interviews and piles of paper

Bit of tidying to do tonight, will see how I go as I don't feel the best today.

DH has been at his place of work for 30 years today!!!!! Amazing. I have been at mine 21 years on Saturday.

Tonight's tea is a Roast Chicken Dinner - really looking forward to it.
