    Phew! What a week.

I've come back to work for a sit down! Shattered, but it went fairly well - I'm happy and the bride & groom were happy and that is what's important.

The one advantage to going buffets is that there are always some ingredients left over and so lunches till Wednesday are sorted and some left overs will be used for evening meals this week.

So, today I had LO tuna mayo on a jacket potato with LO greek salad for lunch. Tomorrow will be LO egg mayo sandwich and Wednesday will be a complete LO meal of Hummus and Salad Wraps.

Teas will consist of Beef Chilli with pasta and garlic bread (all from stores or freezer); Fish with LO Moroccan Style Cous Cous and Lamb Chops with LO Lemon & Basil Potato Salad (which makes great roasties) - this will bring me up to Thursday and payday!

It's been a spendy month, so going to have to be a bit more frugal with personal spends next month - (though I am going to treat myself to a facial but the money will come out of the clothes budget as I am shopping from my wardrobe at the moment). I do however, want to factor in a meal out with my Mum and brother - only a cheap and cheerful, so won't break the bank - Mum doesn't get out much and I am concerned that she hasn't really been anywhere since May!

Don't think there is going to be much to move to the house fund this month - just a few bits and pieces - I have no spare cash to be swept. But I suppose I have got the proceeds from the 'chair sale' to go in so that's not too bad.

Need to get back to doing things in the house now the buffet is done and dusted - still boxes to unpack that are all over the lounge at the moment.

Work starts on getting our other house up to scratch today with DH having 2 weeks off work to complete the task. I know we seem to have left it a long time, but we have had so much on it's sort of got left and I also think that we almost can't be bothered with it - but of course we have to be.

Hope everyone is well and I look forward to catching up with the diaries over the next few days.:D

  • First coat of paint on the bedrooms at our rental property (going to call it that now as I have to detach myself).

Hole to be fixed in the wall in one bedroom where a leak we had a couple of years ago had come through (didn't realise this till we moved a book shelf when we moved).

I am sure that there will be a few more hiccups - there always are.

DH is working hard, but not enjoying it at all - MIL is also coming to help in the afternoons - she's a star and will keep DH on the job! SIL also coming down to clean the cooker for us - need to sell this and the little chest freezer.

On the money front I think we are over budget on the food shopping - haven't worked it out yet as I'm over a week behind because of the buffet - if we are over it won't be by much (at least we have a buffer of extra money from DH at the moment).

Need to transfer money from our joint savings for the work being done on our rental property.

I think that next week will be paying in cash to the bank and paying it straight off the credit card for all the buffet food etc...

Plus still have 50ps to pay in and transfer.

We may be having friends down this weekend from Wales (now we have a bigger house and garden it's ideal for the kids to run around).

Left overs nearly used up and shopping list growing - pay day tomorrow!

I think I mentioned the toy fair DH is doing in a couple of weeks (well less than that now) and he still needs to get stuff sorted for that which he's going to do over the next few evenings. Hoping to make some money from that - but of course we have no idea how much.

Need to get the house back up to speed aswell after last weekend - which I intend to start tonight so I haven't got it all to do at the weekend. Also still got stuff to put away in the new dresser and display cabinet and going to start that tonight too.

So, no rest for the wicked at the moment - I am hoping to get a weekend off weekend after next.

Looking forward to some relaxing yoga on Friday evening and going to book myself a beauty treatment for weekend after next so I have something to look forward to.

Still catching up with diaries - hope to be up to date soon.

Worked like a trojan yesterday to get the house back up to speed.

6 loads of washing done this week (started Wednesday) and a fully functional kitchen again.

DH changed the bed (more washing), vacuumed throughout and took all the rubbish & recycling out which was a great help.

Few more boxes emptied and some things put on the walls.

Still managed to see mum (they had no electric but back on now - over 12 hours - not good).

Caught up with some friends too for a cup of tea and Homemade biscuits (really delicious made by my friend - she even boxed some up for me so I could take DH some samples).

Yoga was good on Friday - I do feel some benefit - which I am sure will increase when I've done it regularly for a while.

Our friends can't come up today so other plans kicking in.

Having a bit of a lie in this morning (breakfast in bed in a bit - yum), a couple of hours doing paperwork while DH sorts more toys for next weekend and then we may pop down the rental for a couple of hours. Nothing too strenuous today.

    MILs for tea later ☺

Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday. Will be back on with a financial update later.

6 loads of washing in such a short space of time makes me tired just thinking about it!

Love having super productive days like that :)

You'll be limber in no time with the yoga, it's amazing how quickly it can build up (saying that, I must get back into doing it as well, I really need it *creaks*)

    Homemade biscuits sound yum!

Really hope the yoga is a success - have wanted to do it for a while but it's finding a class that's been difficult - dvd's are just not the same.

Hope you find time to get back into it PM. I'm loving making some time for myself for a change.

    Biscuits are all gone

You sound really busy and positive. Xxx

After buying this house and moving in I do feel a bit more positive about myself and our future.

Things haven't been easy over the last few years due to various reasons, but I am enjoying making this house into a home and finally ear marking time for myself for a change - I may have less money but the money I'm spending on myself is well spent and will hopefully improve my emotional state.

Sorry for going all deep and meaningful ☺

And as for the busy - well some things never change lol
