An interactive Star Wars money box sounds wonderful, almost as good as Mrs E's cat money box :)

Glad to hear that things are progressing with the house.

    Happy new week everyone.

    - £30 transferred to the fund for more stuff sold by DH.
    - Need to count 50ps - should have £20 by now...
    - Still sorting things out for the car boot sale, may be postponed from this Saturday to next to give us chance to sort out everything for it.
    - MIL is off next week and so am I and she has said that if need any help she would come up and lend a hand (love my MIL)
    - Gave some retro clothes to my 17 year old niece (I bought them before she was born lol) - no money involved but more items out the way. She loves them...so all good.

On the house buying front we have had the Seller's Questionnaire and the contents thingy through - couple of queries that I have gone back to the solicitor on - just waiting now.

    The packing up continues.

Hope everyone is well, will pop in as much as I can, but as you can appreciate - it's hectic.

    Happy Hump Day Everyone!!!

    - Counted the 50ps - we have £28, so will be depositing next time I go to the bank.
    - Car boot sale sort out continues - found a fair few things in the loft last night and have got rid of a load of rubbish and tidied up a bit too (we can now move up there) - DH wasn't letting me go up there because he said their wasn't room - but he was out last night and I thought I'd get some stuff done...it's much better now.
    - It's that dry period of the month on the money front...

Using up the last of the Christmas turkey tonight - 2 small turkey steaks. So I've got some LO bacon that I froze at the weekend so I'm going to chop everything add mushrooms and red onions and add a good lashing of turkey gravy (using something else up from the cupboard) and make some stuffing. Served with roasties, sweet pots, broccoli & carrots - so should be enough to fill DH up.

    Still eating from the freezer.

    Hi everyone!

Been a really busy week - no time for browsing on the net.

    Quick update:

    - Waiting for something in the post from the solicitor - should have been posted Friday.
    - Another £60 added to the house fund.
    - Most of the money for the deposit has been moved to the joint current account - just £7k from the house fund to move now and we are good to go.
    - DH's regular deposit has gone through today - last one!!!
    - 12 boxes of paperwork packed up (11 mine; 1 DH!!!)
    - 1 box of just suspension files and another box of folders, punched pockets and other stationary items.
    - Most of the car boot stuff identified - the stuff that's down MILs has been sorted and priced up ready for next weekend. Few more boxes in the loft, some boxes in a cupboard and a sweep round the house to be done to finish off and we should be good to go for Saturday (weather permitting!)
    - Catering stuff all sorted, boxed and labelled.
    - GF Mags all sorted - recipes retrieved from the last few years worth that I wanted and boxed. Just a few years worth from the loft to be boxed - not looking at these - them I'll see if the people who buy magazines want these or whether they have got to be dumped.
    - Sorted out and put loads of photos into albums.
    - Sorted out the remaining clothes - and packed them up.
    - Antique chairs have been take to the auctioneers - £120-£180 estimate. Finding out additional information about the origin at the moment - they ware going in the sale at the end of July.
    - Scrap cans all deposited with our charity, minutes of last meeting done and wages sorted. Found some paperwork to go back to the office and £5.07 in a box at the back of a cupboard which belongs to the charity also.

Didn't seem to be much till I wrote it all down.

Also went to friend's in Wales for a day; went to a craft fair with a friend; had a lovely wedding anniversary with DH; had my hair cut and had a few lovely hours with my MIL on my own.

Successful week - I think so, even though the house now looks like a bomb has hit it!

    Still eating from the freezer.

Lonely portion of spag bol from the bottom of the freezer for tonight's tea!

    Hope everyone is well.

I would be very surprised if your house *didn't* look like a bomb had hit it! Well done on having such a productive week :)

I am amazed that you have managed to amass so much paperwork - is some of it for your charity?

Good luck with the chairs, I have been looking at a few whisky auctions of late and while they look like great fun, it's a very different business model to any others that I have experienced. There are lots of random little charges and additions to consider (as a buyer, anyway).

    Hi Ed

Yes, 5 boxes of charity paperwork - hopefully this can be condensed down further after we move.

I also have Books and Notes from my CIM marketing courses which are still of use, plus Dad's paperwork, some paperwork from our family friend, plus my own...I think there will probably be one more box of my own paperwork once I have finished.

I filled our grey bin (which is our recycling bin), plus three large carrier bags of shredding - so it was good to go through it all otherwise there would have been at least double if not more in terms of boxes!

Yeah, the commission is a bit steep when you are buying in an auction - 21% here and there is an 18% sellers fee too.

Although I want to make money from the chairs, I am more concerned that they go to a good home and get the TLC they need. If they stay with me they will continue to deteriorate - and I owe it to our family friend that they are properly re-homed.

Just had a call from the solicitor and he didn't manage to get the paperwork out to us. So will have to wait till tomorrow.

The only outstanding issue is the conservatory and the planning permission. the seller has applied for retrospective planning permission and is still waiting on the council. If this doesn't happen indemnity insurance will need to be put in place.

I really hope this can be resolved soon as now I'm in the swing on packing up the house, I want to just move now.

The mortgage advisor is going to push the estate agent to get this sorted.

    Watch this space.
