The 12th of June is very close, you must be so excited :)

If you like pulled pork, you might like to try the Michael Ruhlman recipe that I recently completed for HM corned beef. You basically brine a big piece of brisket with smooshed garlic and pickling spice for a week and then simmer it for 4 hours. It was delicious, truly the pulled pork of the cow world.

Yeah, 12 June is very close and so much to do in our house you wouldn't believe!!!

Mixed feelings though - excited, worried and terrified all at the same time. the emotions keep coming in waves - but we both agreed that if we don't do it now we never will - especially as neither of us is getting any younger.

I can imagine that the HM corned beef is absolutely delish - I've done brisket in the SC before and that was really nice. Thanks for the tip - may well be on the menu at some point.

I think it's understandable to have a little bit of trepidation in the mix. I am really not looking forward to being in a chain when we come to sell our flat, I would consider selling first and moving in with neraby rellies for a month or two to avoid it.

Is the plan that this will be your forever home?

We are lucky in the respect that if the seller doesn't find anywhere to buy, she is going to either move in with her new partner or her sister for the time being - so theoretically we are chain free.

I would think that unless something drastically changes this will be our forever home or at least a very long time home - I don't like change much.

Mortgage application has gone in for £106k over 23 years. The final figure will hinge on the valuation and what it does to our mortgage offer and if we can shave a little more off the price.

We are more than happy with the price we have put in - but of course valuers have other ideas. Whatever happens, we are still going to put the same amount of deposit down - so could save a shade more if the selling price moves down - the intention is to borrow as little as possible.

I've done some rough calculations on £106k and we will need to overpay by approx £3.6k per year to pay off in 10 years (which is my goal). However, DH seems to think it will be nearer 15 years. Obviously, this all depends on what happens financially - but I intend to OP as much as possible from the outset to bring it down and we will just go with the flow.

Salmon for tea tonight - really going to have to much through those freezers now - don't want to have to cart too much with us when we move!

Planted some cabbages into trays for selling for our Charity last night - it was quite good therapy.

My friend has been working hard on the allotment this week and I plan to go up on Sunday and continue digging the perimeter trench to stop the horsetail getting onto the neighbouring plots. Also got some wild flower seeds that I'm going to sow in front of the shed.

Got quite alot on Sunday really. We are going to move all the car boot sale stuff down to my MILs so we have room to sort out the rest of the stuff. We have also got a buyer for the remaining car boot stuff after the event. Got more stuff to sort for the sci-fi fair we are doing on Bank Holiday Monday. Also going to put our first batch of stuff on e-bay and FB selling. Phew! think I'll be coming back to work for a rest!

Free night in a hotel tonight - got to pay for breakfast but it's not too bad, so at least we get to relax before the madness of Sunday.

Eating out tonight - looking forward to it.
