Have done a little non-essential shopping.
Pair of shoes (that will be used for work) from M&S: £45 less 20% voucher code = £36 less £20 gift card given to me for my birthday = bargain at £16 for leather shoes!
Some guilty pleasure DVDs - the TV series Fame seasons 1 & 2 - love dance stuff (had A Chorus Line DVD for my birthday!) and decided to take a trip down memory lane and cheer myself up!
Some 12v Straighteners for the car! A little odd I suppose, but sometimes I get caught in the rain when I go out at lunch, or if we are going out straight from work (and the socket in the ladies doesn't work) - they had very good reviews and were only £8.99 so taking a chance on them.
So £50 spent in all - not often I do that so I don't feel guilty.
Oh and I bought my mum a chilli growing kit for her birthday next week.
Back later.

3 birthday cards bought at lunchtime. That's all of them now for March (including DHs).
Also, have opened a new Mr T savings account for our house fund. At least the interest is more than what we are getting now which equates to almost a big fat nothing!
50p in penguin pot today - adding up nicely again I would think!
Bread, hummous and cheap cat food for my stray cat on the list from Herr A tonight.
Tonight's tea is one of our favourites Salmon with Cream and Dill Sauce, Pasta and Broccolli.

Ho Hum...its the middle of the month (ish) and not much on the money front.
Couldn't find my receipt for Mr T from last week, but I am guessing that I spent about 15-17 quid including Herr A. So total roughly £80. Add to that £4 spent on Bacon and baguettes on Saturday and £3.50ish from last night (not including stray cat spends - that's coming out of personal spends) and we have a very rough total of £88 so far...not bad really.
Need to check the menu plan tonight and make my shopping list for the week.
So, enough wibbling on about groceries...
Ordered some veg plants and seeds this morning so we can get some stuff started in the allotment.
Foggy and chilly here this morning, but improving now - so nice to see the sun for a change isn't it?
Didn't really enjoy my salmon last night - don't know why - it tasted fine, just made it and then didn't fancy it!
Hearty meal of lincolnshire sausages and mash tonight - easy enough so if I don't feel like cooking DH can take over.:)
Happy hump day everyone.

DH cooked...enjoyed the sausages.
Need to check my menu plan for the coming week, but have failed completely to print it out. So, going to make one up now.
Hoping to be naughty and go out for something to eat tonight - feel really lazy on the cooking front.
No real money news...
Friday tomorrow!

Friday at last but feel quite glum.
DH went and fetched some nice food from Mr W last night and cooked up a feast of cajun chicken, crispy potato slices and HM garlic mushrooms - delish. (Came in much cheaper than going out and really cheered me up).
Loads to done so going to get on.
Wishing everyone a great weekend.

I haven't seen it for ages, I'm going to have to seek it out now. Might have to watch Chicago to tide me over until then.
PS. Hope you feel a bit chipperer as the evening & weekend progresses xa penny picker upper. I'm glad that the weekend seems to have improved for you MCI, sometimes the glum feelings can be inexplicable and hard to shift
I don't think that I could manage one high kick :rotfl:0
