Thanks celebrate, they never told me I had to have yearly checks, just shove it in and leave for 5 years
. Might just go to the wish clinic at work, they seem very proactive about womens health and come highly recommended.
Naughty naughty on the Lloyds shop, who are they for? Where are you going to put them? Put them in the car in the morning and return them to the shop.
Tonight, I have mainly been swimming in !!!!!!! Drains are blocked so I went to get new rods as ours have vanished. Still not fully cleared so I've poured a litre of thick bleach down there for the night. After I poured it in there, it started bubbling away like it was about to explode and I just stood there think ohmigawd, it's gonna blow! Didn't think to get out of the way though! Thankfully, it didn't so I've covered it back up for the night and will continue to clear it in the morning. Have had to leave the bath full so that I don't dilute the bleach, I want it to eat through the blockage good and proper so that when I lift the lid in the morning, it's sparkly (I can dream right).
There was loads of hair blocking it, a bit worried really. I regularly do all the inside drains and toilets with vinegar and bicarb, and I thought it would help the main drain too. I'm a bit worried about one of my friends. She's Japanese and lives in the area which has been hit. Loads of people have posted concerned messages on her Facebook profile but she hasn't replied yet. I hope she's okay.
Sending huge positive vibes for your friend to get in contact soon - it's probably just that their internet is down so she's unable to get messages out. The mobile network is down all over the place in Japan isn't it - so it follows that the internet connections are too, plus of course if she's away from her home.....my fingers are crossed for a happy outcome in any case, and that she hasn't lost too much.
Kaz get yourself to the 99p shop tomorrow, or Poundland - both do good sized bottles of drain clearing stuff which I found hugely effective when ours blocked the other week (at the same time as OH was in hospital - it never rains....!) - if you have standing water though make sure you get one of the thick gel ones that's designed to sink through the water to get to the gunk below.
I forgot a UU! It was a deadly boring one though - just Cotton Wool pads. WIBA? Yup - it was one of the things I bought in my christmas-shopping-night-extra-points stock up!

Think something really wierd has happened this week, after the misery of the begining my OH has encountered a string of incredibly good luck, firstly his work got printed in a magazine, then he got featured on a very well known website (in the industry at least) and today he just found out he won a design competion he entered last year, and on top of that found out yesterday some of his work might be published in a book...Its a strange world!
EDIT: Can anyone tell me what to get in the BS with my voucher! I felt totally lost in there and didnt buy a thing
Oh and also got a £5 No7 voucher from boots, any recommendations?
Well done to your OH -
Now with the BS voucher - have you checked your stash to see if there is anything you really need? Have you any Birthdays coming up and you could buy some gifts?
Are there any products in there you have always wanted to try and haven't as yet because you thought they were too expensive?
Do you need to treat yourself? Or have you a HG product that you use a lot. Otherwise go onto the website and have a browse if you can't make up your mind when you are in the shop - I know you can't use the voucher online but it will give you a chance to looksey before you buy.
Good Luck0 -
Hi Kaz - really shocked  to read you story about your DS and his very bad treatment by your GP. I would change Practices and make a complaint, especially as you had a witness.
Hope this medical story will raise a tittle -
Years ago I was working a late shift on a Plastic surgery ward. We had a phone call from the Registrar to say a patient was on his way up to the ward and wanted us to get him prepared (on the couch) so he (reg) could have a look at his melanoma site ( post surgery).
The guy turned up and was a very fit, hunky Frenchman who spoke very little English. Between me and my colleague we were trying to persuade him to 'Removez les pantalons' so that he could lie down on the couch with the melanoma site exposed, ready to be viewed.
Eventually he understood (took a while) and began removing his jeans. We then noticed that he wasn't wearing any underwear. Fortunately the Registrar burst in to the room and said 'What's going on here, the melanoma site is on his back'.
Exit, 2 very red and embarrassed 'Engleesh' Staff Nurses.
Got to laugh though - he was a good looking guy :rotfl:
Shades of 'Carry on again Nurse, me thinks'
And back to business - working today so no INS0 -
Charlie, congrats on your OH's string of good luck...could it be that the smallest member of your family is smiling down on you? I'm sure it sounds really daft, but I think it happens! One of my favourite customers died about three years ago and every year around his birthday (May 20th) I always seem to have really good luck when having a horse bet, l truly think that he's up there reminding me he's still keeping an eye on me!!I want a perfect body, I want a perfect soul, I want you to notice when I'm not around[/SIZE][/FONT][/B]0

One Sunday, I got home from work in the morning to find that DS had a very obvious case of impetigo. He had a nasty wet rash spreading into his ear and kept fiddling with it. I was concerned about him causing damage to his hearing. I phoned my surgery to get the number for the out of hours (they got very cross when I turned up with DD and a large hernia!). I got the number for NHS direct and rang them. After reassuring them repeatedly that there was no need for an ambulance as he didn't have meningitis, they said they'd ring back within 4 hours max, probably sooner as it was a child. 5 hours later I phoned work and spoke to my friend who said, look you know what's the matter with him and you know what treatment he needs, just bring him in!
NHS direct then rang back to say they were still waiting for a nurse to be free to do the consultation. I went over it all AGAIN and stted that he needed to be on antibiotic treatment today and no it couldn't wait for tomorrow. The rash was nasty and spreding and no it wasn't meningitis. The chap on the phone said "with all due respect Mrs bleurghbleurgh, I AM a registered nurse and I DO know what I'm talking about " to which I replied "WITH all due respect, so am I and I can actually see the rash".
When I got him to the GP clinic, the recptionist went mad. First because I didn't have an appointment then because I had been referred to NHS direct by my surgeries answerphone. The GP was fab although not happy that DS had waited so long. He said he should have been seen on the Friday and was very surprised when I said he'd been symptom free until that morning. He was horrified at the speed of the rash.
I don't have a downer on all GP's. The reason we haven't moved surgeries at the moment is because I did a placement at my surgery and loved it. My kids love the GP's that they've seen there over the yearsDebt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -

Honestly don't think its going to last very long because I could use it all day long
Have to admit it was a bargain at 99p in bodycare - that shop is fantastic (or evil whichever way you see it)
I wish we had a local Bodycare shop. I love it in there. They also sell Bolsius tea lights which are fab.
Tried to place my ASOS order last night but loused it up. Realised after I had put it through that it had charged me for p&p so cancelled the order to start again and it cancelled my voucher code. Have emailed them and they've said if I send them the original email they'll provide another code so am hoping this comes through quickly. Was very impressed with their response time (so far!). With the voucher I'm gonna get my Lemon Aid and a bottle of S&G shampoo which Emma adores and has finished her tube from Christmas. 250ml has lasted her 2½ months - she does shampoo twice though and her hair is just past her shoulders in length. The order in total will cost me £1.65 extra so £10.65 with the cost of the voucher.:money:
The only other IN I'm anticipating today is cotton wool pads.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

But someone on this site mentioned and I do that all the time. If I rememer I take a sachet with me on holiday as often showers can be blocked. I know its yuck but that helps. Hope it gets sorted soon for you
That's a great tip. I was at home yesterday and caught a bit of This Morning - there was a feature of Aggie from How Clean is Your House going on about cleaning drains and it involved mixing bicarb of soda, vinegar and something else together. I was sitting there thinking what a palavar. Now your suggestion sounds much easier.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. Morning all,
Mass of UUs for me today - all of which could easily have lasted at least another day but I was too impatient! I'm now over-conditioned and over-moisturised.
Wella System Professional Color Save conditioner: This was a gwp from the Glamour subscription. It smells wonderful, makes my hair really shiny and has lovely iridescent(sp?) packaging. Unfortunately, it costs something like £12.50 for 200ml, and even though it lasts ages, I couldn't justify that when I've used equally nice conditioners for less than half the price.
Femfresh: probably TMI! :rotfl:
No7 eye make up remover: All I really liked about this was the bottle! It couldn't remove all of my make up and left a greasy film. I bought it with the voucher at £2.50 and I can't believe they charge £7.50 for it normally!! I now have the Glamour Clinique freebie and EH's favourite L'Oreal version to try, so hopefully they will be much better.
Garnier Intensive 7 day body moisturiser sachet: came in Company magazine. WIBA? No. It was lovely and light, but really overperfumed.
Have a lovely weekend, ladies! x0
