mcculloch29 wrote: »A question: How many of you are using (or have recently used) a product not designed as footcream on your feet?
I have enough elderly moisturiser or stuff that doesn't quite suit my skin to keep me going in footcream all year. As an added bonus, my feet haven't been this healthy in years.
ME!! :rotfl:
Welcome to all like- minded newbies  (you will, throughout the course of this challenge, find yourself on the naughty step a fair amount of time though - be prepared!)
Well, I'm off there for a while myself as I bought 3 glamour mags from 2 different places, then went round the nearest 2 towns and visited many newsagents/supermarkets in the vain hope of getting a moisture surge
None to be found and god knows how much I spent in petrol  Luckily for me, a good friend of mine has picked one up for me :kisses3:
So 3 ins for me when I was going to be SOO good this month!:o
Big hugs to all who need them and love your nails sawan!January 2020 GC - £151.09/£180

 eek 15 pages! Been away with work this week so now gots lots of catching up of pages up to do first before I report my insLife is a coin, you can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.
Go as far as you can see, and when you get there you'll see further.

You know you've been hanging around this thread too long when you get excited about using up a bottle of tippex at work! :rotfl:Oh dear! (Not that I use tippex for cosmetic purposes, I should add, I'm just completely into the 'use it up' mentality.)
Sorry to hear about the tonsillitis, Vivh - hope you feel better soon. x0 -

Please don't tell me I'm the only regular not buying Glamour???!!!!
I have bought it in the past, but it's not very me, and I have little time for pleasure reading, so tend to stick to books. Usually ones I've got free from Amazon.
no you're not the only one. I've never bought Glamour magazine and am not really tempted.0 -
oooh........Boots bonus time..................what's that then??????????
Buy two full size Clinique things and get a nice little gift with purchase free. Usually good sizes of the products in the gift, and unlike a lot of these offers it's not a "1 to be skincare" stipulation on the purchases.bohemianrose9 wrote: »Ooh, forgot to add my UU: Bioderma moisturiser. Finally! It's been hanging around for years. Now moving on to the Clinique goodies. Btw, did anyone know what will be in the Boots Bonus time GWP?
Right - from memory.....it all comes in a pretty tin, and I know there was definitely a duo eyeshadow and a mascara, then I think a Youth Surge moisturiser, a Dramatically different, a liquid facial soap and one more thing I think - possibly a lip gloss? Looked like a nice set anyway.Really poorly today with acute tonsillitis, second time in two months, am on antibiotics for 7 days so no drinks for my birthday next week, it's a big one too:(. Despite that still managed to think about skincare and asked DH to pick up another glamour with the moisture surge in. Just out of interest I had a look for this on ebay and the 30ml sizes are selling on there in the region of £9:eek: ending today, bit of a beggar if you pay that when you can get it for £2.
Aww poor Viv - tonsilitus is awful - Surprised as it's the second time you've only got 7 days anti-b's - hopefully though this lot will sort it out. You'll need the moisture surge too - anti-b's can be horrible on the skin!
The buying/stashing thing for me.....well the stashing was because I was one of those people who didn't want to use my lovely products as then I wouldn't have them any more....silly, but there you go. Then I can't resist a good bargain, hence ending up with 9 bottles of shampoo at one point! The pretty sparkly things lure is also a big thing for me as well I think - I love things that look nice - the way a product is packaged for example will have a big influence on whether I'm likely to buy it.

I don't have one but that UD Naked palette has a massive cult following with beauty bloggers. It was sold out and impossible to get for ages so it was an excellent choice.
Thanks for that, wasn't keen on the price, but it will prolly last me the rest of my lifetimeI'm not really big on make up - need to get some courage and go for a make over somewhere to know what i should be using/buying. Anyone recommend anywhere???
Just sneaking in to annouce my first "In" of the year. I've ordered my Mir Cleanser.
Thats fab... wish i had your will power :TFor me its bargains!!
It used to be bargains, then my mum started buying me some 'nicer/expensive' things that would just sit there as I didn't want to use them, cos i wouldn't have them anymorenow its more i want them to work, cos i can't afford cosmetic surgery :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
To be fair, i've never been one for trying new things (didn't want to spend the money and not like it) so my stash is more stuff i've used for years... but now i've had my eyes opened since joining this thread, i'm wanting to use everything up so i can try new goodies
Bought two more mags today, got the DD moisturiser and the lip gloss
Vivh - hope you feel better soon
Quick question - How do you get the Debs beauty card???? Theres a Debs opening near us in May, I want to be ready....:rotfl::rotfl:Challenges - repay all credit cards by end of 2015Starting the savings for retirement :rotfl:

ok here goes
hi guys i am a newbie! It has been suggested to me on various threads (esp lloyds pharmacy sale that I fess up and get help)
I have always knwon about MSE but never really looked properly at the forums until january when i wanted to double check dates for the boots sale. Since then I have been addicted to the site and to shopping.
I have to say I had a bit of a problem before , as I have a good job (am comfortable) I don't really have to watch too much what I spend but have always been tight and never really part with my money unless soemthing is at least 75% off.
Since joining the forums I have become aware of sales I previosuly would have never known about or not taken an interest in.
Looking at the posts other people have posted made me giggle and quite embarrassed, if I were to list my stash of stuff it would be several pages (if not more) long.
Places I have gone crazy and bought more than I need (list is from top of my head, i daren't look in the cupboards as it will all fall down onto my head):
1. Boots sale couple hundred pounds spent, and more recent temptations-loads of no 7 sets, gift sets, frontcover sets, gok sets, loads jewellry, recent JF offer bought 4 and lee stafford hair products offer bought 2(NEVER would have bought these before), minis 5for 4 and 3for2 bought 15, dove deos and shampoos/shpwer gels
2. Claires accessories spent over £140 in the 10 for £10 ( sorry i know no toiletries)
3. lloyds pharmacy sale -4 orders online 2 for over £100, another 2 for £60 each, did another two around £60 thank God one cancelled by lloyds as not in stock, other i cancelled last minute just after placing order as i felt i was overdoing it and soooo guilty. Spent over £100 in lloyds while visiting rels in manchester, today been to a lloyds about 20miles away and bought another £100 worth of fragrances
4. Tesco sale-duvets, asda toy sale clearance-have stacks of mini robots at 75p
5. A local store in my town sells cut price make up bought tons lip glosses and other make up when i pass
Although i have a big family and loads of poor rels abroad who i love sending gifts for I still feel I have a problem, it makes me feels good to get bargains, if i don't take everything that was there i can't rest and feel v agitated unless i go back and clear the shelves, generally most shops i will go backa few times. its kind of like a fix, i know i'm describing an addiction.
It is totally ruining my life, my sister has nicked half my stash of perfumes and didn't seem that grateful. I am spending less and less time with my family, am irritable with the OH if he bothers me while I am engrossed on the comp. I have exams to revise for and updates for my job i am just not keeping up with.
Not really sure what to do. I know I couldn't hack going cold turkey.
Any advice appreciated:) Sorry I know this is a no buying toiletries not a no shopping general thread (but i have spent hundreds on toiletries recently hope i qualify!!)GRATITUDE WHEN GIVEN, PATIENCE WHEN DENIED
Please press the thanks button when someone has helped!0 -
Caught up with all the pages. I too caught kind of caught up in the Galmour hype, I got my subscribption copy last weekend and posted I was disappointed that I'd received the mascara. Well my BF also subscribes
ahem! and most frustratingly it was also a mascara that arrived at his flat. Hmm, not best impressed, so I've ended up not bothering looking anywhere else.
Been away with work all week, would you belive the hotel had lost our booking and they were full and we couldn't get anywhere to stay.Ended up driving an hour in the wrong direction to get to another hotel, we were a bit grumpy! Took with me my litle samples but they are still going strong!
Today I popped into the BS to use up the free shower gel voucher, they hadn't seen it before so got one no problems! :T I did wonder if I could use the email in another store? Has anyone else tried it?
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend and welcome all newbies! :beer:Life is a coin, you can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.
Go as far as you can see, and when you get there you'll see further.

Sorry to reply late but still wading through all of the news
When I worked at a GP's Surgery we lent out machines to people for a week so that they could record their BP at home.
BP changes, depending on - the time of day, whether you have just had a hot or cold drink and/or a cigarette. Also if you have been out in the cold.
I once did a course in BP taking :rotfl:0
