Went to see a new tesco that has opened and ended up leaving with a moisture surge and superbalm:eek:(but my mum is having the moisture surge:)) and a garnier makeup remover. I did need some (honest!) and it was on offer. My last one ran out 2 weeks ago so I have been double cleansing instead.

celebrate- I find if I have a sudden urge to buy something I will put it on a wish list on a word document and tell myself that I will eventually get round to buying it. When I look back in a month or so, I have usually forgotten about it :D this thread has already helped me so much:T

Forgive me sisters, for I have sorta sinned - I bought my daughter, ahem, cough, a copy of Glamour in WH Smith's in Darlington. And ooh, there was a free gift on the front...

Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief:money::j:j

Yes, I know I said I wouldn't buy it but after reading reviews of the product, I thought, 'I've GOT to try this...' And when everyone said it was almost impossible to find, I thought, oh well ... so decided I wasn't buying it, cough.

I also got a Marie Claire (which I do buy from time to time) with Grumpy Cow lotion.

Hi celebrate :hello:. Your post sounds like a real cry for help....
Rightyho, grab a :coffee: and take a deep breath.
Firstly, you need to find some way of controlling your internet time. It is very easy for the minutes on here to just roll away without noticing. So perhaps next time you come on here, set an alarm for 30 minutes and then when it's up, turn off the computer.
    snipped!

Don't worry too much, it will take a little while but the grim reality is, you've accumulated all teh stuff so it needs to go, by UU's or returns or selling. You may even consider making up a box to donate to your local refuge or hospital. We regularly get patiennts in who have brought nothing and don't have family members locally. Deodorant and body spray is the thing we can never get hold of but shampoo and conditioner is always welcome and shaving foam is super welcome!

Edited for space my lovely, I hope you don't mind, but that is a bliddy brilliant post!:T:T:T :A:A:A

Celebrate I think most of us know the buzz of getting a bargain, and you're right you can definitely get addicted to it.

I have a post it with NO! written on it taped over my debit cards and loyalty cards because I know that I can still, even now, get carried away by bargains and it's as if my brain checks out and someone else makes the decision.

I wasted a whole day of my precious life on the Boots 75% Sale.

I could tell myself that it was because I was determined to get £11.25 reduced from £45 Gok boxes for the womens refuge I volunteer at, but really honestly truly - I was mainly just caught up in it.

Do you think setting yourself a budget would help? I used to allow myself £100 a month to spend frivolously - on make up, going out, clothes I didn't really need etc.

Maybe focus on the no spend or low spend grabbits and promotions to get your fix without derailing your finances.

    Keep posting hon. :)

Welcome to the thread Celebrate! I hope we can help you here and well done to Kaz for the great advice!

I've on IN to confess to today - used my No7 voucher (damn them!) towards a holiday hair protector.

Fantastic advice from Kaz there and another wonderful reminder of why this thread is so very special.

That could easily have been me if I'd had a decent income when I was younger. Now that I have, thankfully the splurge urge is less.
I'm going to unwrap today's goodies in a minute - I do feel a little bit of a hypocrite. :o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o The weird thing is I NEVER go in Smith's on a Saturday normally - just wandered in to see if they have an instore cash machine.

They don't but Poundland does! Go figure......

Celebrate, I can't do complete cold turkey either. I do allow myself a couple (*ahem*) of buys a month that I don't strictly need, but since being on this thread I know my buying has plummeted, which is just as well, as I still have plenty of stuff in store after over a year on here. Things last much longer than I realised! I've been trying to apply the philosophy to other things I stockpile too, like herbal tea and shoes. :rotfl:

2 more Glamour magazines, and I'm calling a halt at that. I only wanted the lip stuff anyway.

Hurray, I managed to get hold of the moisture surge extended thirst relief with Glamour today. After having spent time in town this morning I finally found it in my local Co-op. I am so pleased. I have already started to use the dramatically different moisturizing lotion and it's quite good.

Welcome to all newbies to this friendly thread.

No Ins today (as anticipated - even forgot the nail lacquer remover when I was in Sainsbury's) but one UU: My beloved L'occitane Lavender hand cream. MrM said he may treat me to a tube tomorrow though YAY! It's ok though cos I only have a spluttering S&G Hand Food on the go. In my stash I have an opened tube of Philosophy Amazing Grace, two 5ml tubes of L'occitane shea butter hand cream and a small bottle of OPI Avojuice. The Philosophy and L'Occitane ones are going to be relegated to foot creams though cos I find them too thick for my hands.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!
